Hello,
I am an American Student currently studying International Affairs in Brussels. While in high school I partook in a program in which I taught local German children learn English. English was one of my best subjects while in high school and my skills have only gotten better since. My goal is to teach my students English the way the would hear and see it if they were in the United States. Personally I feel this approach is the best seeing as this is how I learned German and how I am learning French and Dutch. I could help with English assignments and or create lessons on a range of topics.

I am an American student currently living and studying in Brussels. I have lived in Europe for six years going on seven now. The first four years I was living in Europe I learned German. During the learning process I found myself wishing there was a tutor that spoke everyday German and not just "book" German. I found that I learned best when faced with scenarios in which I had to speak the language. My goal is to teach English in a way that sounds natural as well as clean.

I do tutoring for primary and secondary students. However, I cannot help with science subjects for secondary school students.

My father being Chilean, Spanish is my second language.

Regarding English, I lived in England for a year where I took lessons. I also babysat children in Italy for several months, with whom I had to speak English constantly. I also have the First Certificate of English diploma.

I took courses in a translation school for two years in English and Spanish. It allowed me to see in depth the grammar of these two languages and study them at a higher level.

I gave French lessons for three years to non-French speakers.

I try to find the method that corresponds to each one. Indeed, it is important for me to understand how the person to whom I am teaching works in order to best adapt my teaching. I don't think there's just one method, and imposing one on someone isn't productive for me.

I have 19 years as a professor at Mexican university and right now I'm living in Brussels.
I have a PhD. in education and for me it's essential to have dynamic classes that approach with the real life and communicative cases in order to improve the level of the language; the learning process is essential to do in different ways in order to find out which type of learner is the student.
I'm very passionate and disciplinate about my teaching, trying also to use the TIC's as tool to support the knowledge received.

Since I believe that the learning environment is one of the keys to successful language learning, I endeavor to make students feel comfortable and content in my lessons: to ask questions if they are unsure and keep an easy but rewarding pace of learning.

Depending on how my students feel they learn English most effectively, I adapt my lessons to use materials that give them the best results possible. For instance, some students find the continuity of a coursebook effective, while others prefer to be more flexible with articles and podcasts. I know from experience that every student is unique.
