I use to start my classes greeting the student and asking how can I help, what is (are) the question (s) and invite the student to work with me on the solution. Normally, the student works as well, and in that process, I can see what is (are) the topics I need to explain, so at the end the students knows how to solve that kind of question. Sometimes, the student can't help in the solution of the problem. I that case, I explain it thoroughly and then place another similar question on the board, so the student becomes more confident and realize that it's perfectly capable to master the theory he needs to solve that problem. I apply this method in K8 Mathematics, Introduction to Statistics, Statistics for Business and Applied Statistics.

A highly experienced Franco-Belgian teacher (ook in het nederlands!) offers private lessons in mathematics (including finance), probability and statistics, as well as physics, chemistry, and biology for secondary and higher education levels. For physics, chemistry, and biology, the instruction is tailored to the secondary level, specifically up to the 5th year of secondary education in Belgium.

Whether you prefer lessons at your place, my place, or remotely, I am flexible to accommodate your needs. If necessary, I can travel to your home in Brussels, Walloon and Flemish Brabant, with a minimum duration of 2 hours per session. These topics encompass factorization, equations of the 1st and 2nd degree (with in-depth study of parabolas), limits, derivatives, integrals, exponentials and logarithms, as well as trigonometry. Additionally, I am occasionally called upon to teach analytical geometry in space, including equations of lines and planes.

For statistics and probabilities, I provide instruction in descriptive and inferential statistics (univariate and bivariate), covering confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, applicable to secondary and higher education levels.

I am specialized (>5 years of experience) in tutoring math for school (any level, but preferably higher level), including competitive exams such as the SAT, GRE, GMAT, and the IIT-JEE.

This class is aimed to train
1) high-school students undergoing VWO or an IB curriculum, who are having problems following math at school or university,
2) Anyone who wishes to take the VWO Math-A/B/C entrance examinations by Boswell or CCVX and wants to train for that.

Personally, I am currently working as a Quantitative Researcher of stock markets, and therefore analytical math is also a part of my job.

Ik ben gespecialiseerd in het geven van wiskunde. Ik geef wiskunde aan alle klassen en niveau’s van het VO. Mijn doel is om de lestof zo begrijpelijk te maken dat leerlingen geen moeite meer hebben met hun struikelblokken. Ik bespreek altijd eerst de lesstof en daarna laat ik leerlingen zelf de opgaven maken en spring in als leerlingen ergens op vastlopen. Ik probeer de uitleg zo duidelijk mogelijk te maken zodat het kwartje bij de leerling valt.

In deze les wiskunde B leer je hoe je met behulp van differentiaalrekening de helling van een functie en het raaklijnvoorschrift bepaalt. We beginnen met het begrijpen van wat een afgeleide betekent en hoe deze samenhangt met de grafiek van een functie.

Vervolgens oefenen we met het berekenen van afgeleiden van veelvoorkomende functies, zoals veeltermen en eenvoudige samengestelde functies. Daarna passen we dit toe door de helling in een specifiek punt te bepalen en het bijbehorende raaklijnvoorschrift op te stellen.

De les is praktisch en stap-voor-stap opgebouwd, met duidelijke uitleg en gerichte oefenopgaven. Er is veel aandacht voor veelgemaakte fouten en examenvalkuilen, zodat je deze leert herkennen en vermijden.
