There's no pressure for examinations, but they are an option through the ABRSM/Trinity and Rock School as you wish.

I also am a highly experienced teacher of GCSE and A Level music with additional options for ABRSM Theory Exam tuition.

As a composer, I develop my ideas through improvisation at the piano, which, trained through technique and knowledge, allows for a free discovery of one's own music.
So you not only learn to play your favorite songs, but also to understand them and to come up with similar ones yourself.
