(Online/Remote) US/UK Undergraduate & Graduate Application: Drafting, Editing & Refining Essays (PS a/o supplementary)

I offer remote service of drafting, editing and/or refining your college application essays, including your personal statement(s) and supplementary essays (through email). If you prefer, I also offer one-on-one Skype/Zoom where I will walk you through my comments and address any of your concerns regarding the essays and the application process in general.

I am currently a rising senior of Columbia University, and I have just completed a year in Wadham College, University of Oxford. I completed the International Baccalaureate Programme with a GPA of 6.97/7. Throughout the last three years I have been editing and commenting on people's essays, and with my help they were accepted by Barnard College, NYU, UCL (Master's), LSE and alike.

My rates are different depending on the service. For a remote editing/commenting service,. If you would like to send me back the essay(s) for a second check, I will charge a lot less if there are only a few spots to fix. A Skype/Zoom session will be one-hour long in addition to the editing/commenting service, but you will learn how to draft an impressive essay a lot faster.

Have you always wondered how to write the perfect essay? Or perhaps, has the global pandemic caused your curriculum to be changed, and you now have to suddenly hand in a lot more term papers and other academic creations? Then this class is for you and can help improve your academic writing skills!
There are plenty of tips and tricks out there, and I am here to help you not only learn about them but to put them to good practice. Be it referencing or expanding your vocabulary or improving the structures of your papers: it can all be learned!
This class is preferably for a single student, however groups may apply as well. I intend to create a productive learning environment, whereby you as the student will be practicing a lot so that your progress is permanent and you can easily apply your new knowledge in class. I offer an approach to writing that goes beyond the basic technical details. This is because when it comes to writing, I believe the personal is the most important. By talking to you about your experience of writing, I will help you realize your project to its fullest creative potential. Questions about your project will include: How do you plan it? What goes through your head when you sit down to start? What role does re-reading and editing play in your writing process? Opening up this space for exploration will allow you to then insert the appropriate technical details. English academic writing follows a number of specific rules. I teach the main structure that students should follow to succeed in writing essays and dissertations. Additionally, citation rules and practical skills will be discussed. I am also happy to assist with resume and cover letter writing in English.
Moreover, I also offer copy editing of your assignments and help with related queries for an additional fee (depending on the length of the assignment).

On my qualifications:
I completed my Ph.D. in Political Science in 2019. Throughout my studies, I completed additional classes in Academic Writing and Copy Editing. I founded an association that taught Academic Writing classes to graduate students. Since 2012, I have edited numerous papers and dissertations of other students. I work as a researcher and lecturer at a university and as a fact-checker at a think tank. In terms of languages, my mother tongue is German, I completed all my studies in English (and lived in the US and the UK for a number of years) and work in French.
