I am from Sweden and lived my first 19 years there before I moved to Florida, united states for college. I spoke pretty good english before I moved but going from speaking english when traveling to speaking full time everyday with everyone was a big change and I believe that my experience as an international student in the US has taught me a great amount about the language and I can relate to the misunderstandings or confusion with learning English.

Whether it is for school homework, to help with pronunciation, or to learn the basics of English I can help.

Acerca de mí
Hello!
My name is Amanda, born and raised in Sweden but currently living in Florida due to studies. I am a competitive swimmer and have been swimming since I was 8 and am now part of my university's swim team. I will be living in France over the summer and would love to tutor anyone who is whiching for more knowledge in the english language. I have always been around a lot of english since part of my family is living in America. Me and my siblings were introduced to the english language early in our lives to be able to communicate with our family. It was also helpful for us since we traveled alot in our childhood.

What I consider most important and what has made me as good in english as i am today has been to practice on speaking it. Using it to order my own food in the resturant on vacation when I was a child, asking for directions and help etc. Now I would love to find a strategy that works best for you.

Hello,

My name is Amanda, born and raised in Sweden but currently living in Florida, West Palm Beach due to studies. I am a competitive swimmer and have been swimming since I was 8 and am now part of my university's swim team. I love traveling and seeing new places and cultures, as well as learning new languages. My school and my team have a lot of international students and it has given me the opportunity to learn so much about their cultures and languages.
I will be living in France over the summer, hoping to learn both more about the culture and of course the language. While I am there, I would love to tutor anyone who wishes to improve their Swedish.

if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Update 01/01/2023:
I am not currently in France nor will I be this summer!

Hello!
My name is Amanda Stromberg, I am 26 year old and am currently living in Mandelieu after living in Florida, USA for the past 7 years. I went there to join the swim team and to continue my studies at Keiser University and then for work. I am originally from Sweden but have now permanently moved to France and during the summers I love the opportunity to help in an element that stands close to me and that I consider very important. I have been a paid swimming instructor in Sweden for my swimming club for about 4 years where I worked with children from the ages of 10 months to 8 years as well as masters swimming classes. I have also been a certified lifeguard since 2015, where I have held swimming lessons for the town's schools. During my years in college I also did swiming lessons with the families I was babysitting for.

I have been swimming since I was 8 years old and have been a competitive swimmer since I was 12. I am beyond thankful for everything swimming has given me but especially the safety it brings when being around water and believe everyone should have that knowledge to feel safe.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

3 good tips to learn a language

1) Listen a lot

This is essential. And easy, for English. You can watch movies or series, subtitles in French at first then in English when you are more comfortable. You can listen to the songs in the lyrics ("lyrics" in English).

2) Many speakers

Also essential, find a teacher who has a good conversation, or a friend, college... Speak even if you lack vocabulary. Mime the missing words, draw, make yourself understood at your level.

3) Read simple things

Books for children can be a wonderful tool of progress. Roald Dahl's books for example (Fantastic Mr Fox, Charly and the Chocolate Factory...) the series "the worst witch" by Jill Murphy. Comics too.
