I have a very simple teaching philosophy. Every single lesson must be challenging, rewarding, and fun – as the best way to learn is with a smile on your face. I adapt our lessons together to your unique needs and goals, including:

• improving your accent and pronunciation;
• helping you avoid steenkool English and typical ‘Dunglish’ words;
• broadening your vocabulary; and
• perfecting your use of tenses.

Most important of all, I can help improve your confidence, which is the key to learning any language.

A speciality of mine is Business English, so I can also help with everything from preparing for an interview or speaking in meetings, to giving a presentation.

While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Dutch and Spanish. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them.

There is no more rewarding work than teaching, and I take real pride in helping people achieve their English learning goals.

As a native English speaker from the South of England, I speak very clearly with a so-called ‘received pronunciation’ accent, which is perhaps best described as ‘BBC English’. This is the accent taught in British language schools, and students therefore find it very easy to understand me.

When I’m not obsessing with English, Dutch, Spanish or Italian, I can normally be found doing something sport-related (I love cycling, running, football, basketball, cricket, tennis… the list goes on!), socialising with friends, hiking or traveling.

My love for language and words extends beyond teaching. I’ve written speeches for CEOs and politicians, and articles for national magazines and newspapers. I’m also currently writing a book about the English language.

• First Class Honours (cum laude) in Politics with Economics at Loughborough University (2002)
• Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (2008).

As a German student, studying at a international school in Amsterdam (Hotelschool The Hague), with Cambridge Level C2, I will

- tutor academic subjects in German and/or English
- help develop general study skills
- provide help with the oral and written aspects of the language(s)
- thorough preparation for exams

This class is for everyone who wants to improve his/her English and German skills. I do not specifically specialise on tutoring for specific exams (I can obviously do that as well) but I want to offer a class that is customised to the students needs. I always try to teach in a fun and engaging manner with real-life context. People learn best by having a positive attitude towards a subject, therefore, I see it as important to establish a positive rapport with my students and spark their interest in the English and German language.

You will learn how to show your emotions through movements to best inspire the audience and enjoy. We will work on rhythm, tempo (which are two different things), creativity, improvisation techniques and theatrical performance (if interested). I do not like to work genre-based (for instance only hip-hop, or only classical music), but we will practice what you like the most. However, my strengths are rather in contemporary and modern style, hip hop, breakdance, belly dancing, and Persian dance. We can also specialize in one of these if you are interested. In these support courses which can be academic or simply an aid to the deepening of the language, I will bring my personal culture and my recent readings which will also allow the student to discover another facet of French literature. In addition, these courses are also open to those who simply want to learn French.

Hello everyone! I hold a doctorate in Italian, have been teaching Italian for 5 years and hold a CELTA teaching qualification. I've been preparing students for the A-Levels and GCSE (language + literature). I can prepare you for specific examinations, language lessons in general or teach you Italian for business. The lessons are for everyone, whatever their age or level (children to adults). I will make sure that you discover the Italian culture through the lessons, learn the correct pronunciation and of course learn some grammar. I am open to your needs and can speak a few languages to make sure you understand fully the lessons (of course, we’ll try to use mostly Italian in all our lessons depending on your level).

Always wanted to learn Spanish, but the regular lessons go too fast and/or it doesn't stick, then follow these tailor-made lessons.

Why class for 40+, because we have learned from our own experience how difficult it is to learn another language later in life and that most books/courses are based for younger students.

All lessons are adapted to your individual needs and speed.

You do not need to purchase any books, all materials will be delivered by email. This is because we work with several books and in this way we can offer a lot of learning material and thus make the learning material varied (and also rehearse more often if necessary.)

There is no minimum or maximum number of lessons, you are the one who determines the frequency. Of course you can also do these lessons with your partner.

Lessons are given online via Skype and last 1.5 hours at a time.
Lessons can be given during the day or in the evening.

With English being a world language it has become an integral part of our society, especially in work and study related areas. Taking on English lessons with me will help you prepare for any language obstacles you have had up until now. My teaching methods vary from client to client and depend on their current language skills; writing essay type reports for school, reading and understanding the book all your friends talk about, or just to be able to have a fluent conversation, whatever the problem we can work through it together.

I immerse myself in the material that a student has difficulty with, in this case a language and/or a math problem. It is true that I am currently guiding a girl from secondary education with beginners French and German.
But the majority of my tutoring children come from groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary school.
