Conversation o General German o Немецкий для всех русскоговорящих o German for professionals

I offer three different types of lessons:
***Conversational German***
In this lesson we can choose from:
- [Free conversation]
...about any topic that is relevant for you (e.g. travel, food, world news, philosophy, ...). Besides asking you thematic questions and keeping the conversation going, I will correct grammar and pronunciation mistakes if necessary by typing corrections into a shared online document. I will advise you on how to improve your flow of speaking as well as the range of vocabulary you use.
- [Talking about a text or video]
The text (e.g. a simple dialogue or short story, newspaper article, book excerpt, ...) or video (e.g. YouTube, news, short film, ...) can either be suggested by you or me before our lesson starts. So both of us have the chance to read/watch it as a basis for discussion. Alternatively, we can read/watch it together. I will give feedback on pronunciation and help with questions relating to grammar and vocabulary.
- [Answering questions about self-study learning methods, resources, experiences, ...]
I will assist you with all practical issues arising in your personal process of learning how to speak, read, and write German fluently.
***General German***
We will use the digital & interactive version of a renowned DaF (German as a foreign language) text and exercise book, which covers speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises adapted to your level. You will learn how to use new vocabulary and apply grammatical structures in your own speech and text.
At all times, we can complement the course material with other media, either provided by you or me, matching your interests and purposes.
The course material prepares you well for Goethe-/ÖSD-Zertifikate A1-B2, telc Deutsch B2, digitaler Test DaF, and DSH.
***German for professionals***
If you want to focus on improving your German to use it at your work place, we can tailor specific learning plans for you! I have experience with teaching German in the university and medical hospital context.
These lessons are also for everyone who needs assistance with mastering German in an academic context. No matter if you are an applicant, foreign student, or doctoral candidate in a German institution for Higher Education or elsewhere – together we can work on your academic German speaking, writing, and reading skills in ways that best suit your purposes.
Together we will use a shared online document where we can work on essays, presentations, or articles that you need to prepare. Here you can always see all my grammar and pronunciation corrections as well as vocabulary suggestions.
As a German native speaker, I have myself learned to navigate the use of academic German during my studies (social anthropology, philosophy, and politics) at two German universities. Recently, I have graduated with an MSc degree in social anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

We can base our conversation practice on a variety of texts, videos, and audios to complement informal conversation sessions on any topic that is relevant for you (e.g. travel, food, world news, philosophy, ...). Comprehensive German lessons cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises adapted to your level. You will learn how to use new vocabulary and apply grammatical structures in your own speech and text.

We will keep shaping our lessons individually according to your level, interests, and goals.
☆ Natural learning environment
In our lessons you can really let go of all pressure and shame that is often linked to learning a new language. I encourage you to practice German through trial and error! It will be my job to give you that space by assisting you to master exercises and keeping our conversations flowing.
For your revision, I will always be typing corrections and suggestions into a shared online document, so that you can fully concentrate on speaking, listening, reading, and writing German as organically as possible during our lessons.

I’m 26 years old and I’m a German native speaker without an accent. My wish to explore the diversity of the world we live in, as in food & film, literature & sports, history & politics has always driven my own language learning. As a teacher I am motivating and patient, humorous and creative, thorough and structured. I am a good conversationalist and listener, so I will be attentive to your needs and interests and support you to confidently achieve your goals. And I’m happy to help tailor the kind of lesson that you need right now.
I was born and raised in Berlin. Later on, I lived and studied in London, UK, and right now I’m based in Brussels, Belgium as a creative writer and German language teacher.
I’m a creative, energetic, kind, and open-minded person. With joy I taught myself Russian, academic English, and French. Thanks to a three-month long creative writing project in Central Asia and Russia I recently gained fluency in speaking and writing Russian, too.

Opleiding
In 2021 I was awarded a Master of Science (MSc) in Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Before that I completed a Bachelor of Arts programme in Social and Cultural Anthropology as well as Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin.
Leservaring
My teaching experience stems from being a German language teacher for refugees in Germany (2 years), a tutor for first year university students (1 year), and a university teaching assistant (1,5 years).
