Italian is a rich and expressive language, and my lessons are designed to help students gain confidence and clarity in both speaking and writing. I offer personalised Italian lessons adapting each class to the student’s level and goals.

With academic training at the University of Oxford, I combine a clear and structured approach with practical exercises in grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and writing. Lessons can focus on everyday Italian, exam preparation, or the analysis of literary texts and essays.

I am a PhD student at Oxford, where I study and teach Italian. Italian literature and culture is my passion and what I enjoy communicating to my students!
Throughout the years I have been teaching various kinds of students, from children to adults, in the pursuit of different goals.

- I'm a professional Italian teacher from Italy, now living between Pisa and Rome. I have 10 years of teaching experience. I am very patient and I love to make a relaxed and friendly class environment. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests, and availability of the student. I can offer students private accommodation in Pisa, a comfortable private apartment in the historic center of the city, a short walk from my home.

- The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and putting the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course, and for each lesson, I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also, the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing.

Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.
We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them.
In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy.
I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language.

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.

Through my experience as a secondary school teacher, I have come to realise that the acquirement of a language goes
beyond just having another skill.

Languages give students an opportunity to understand another culture and build respect and awareness as an individual. Equally, being an individual who enjoys immersing themselves in other cultures, I believe it is extremely beneficial to make use of out of classroom learning experiences, especially in language learning.

I look at creating engaging and interactive lessons in which students are consistently exposed to the spoken language to promote their confidence and create a safe environment in which they can explore the language without fear. On the other hand, as an individual who grew up bilingual, I feel that the inclusion of students whom English is not their first language is extremely important.
