I'm a concert violinist with a deep passion for teaching. My musical journey began at the Special Music School in St. Petersburg (Russia), continued at the Royal College of Music in London, and brought me to the Haute école de musique de Genève — experiences that shaped me both as a performer and as a tutor.

I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels, from young beginners to aspiring professionals. Whether you're preparing for a major audition or simply want to explore music for the joy of it, I tailor each lesson to you — your needs and your pace.

For me, music is never just about notes or technique. It's about meaning, imagination, and emotional depth. I strive to help each student find their own voice through the violin, developing not only solid skills but also a true artistic identity.

I offer violin lessons and music theory for all levels in French, English, Italian, German and Dutch. Presented in a fun and professional way, my classes are motivating. See you soon

*Maximilian is the violinist of Ensemble Contrechamps (Geneva) and a PhD candidate at the University of Leiden with prior degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Max has performed in major venues across Europe, The Americas and the Middle East as an orchestral & chamber musician, and as a soloist.

*Lessons are 60 minutes in duration focusing on improving violin technique, ear training, musicality, and development of classical repertoire and improvisation skills. Max employs a blend of the El Sistema and Suzuki methods and aims to consistently improve and grow ones violin technique and musical intelligence in a fun and engaging way.

My lessons adapt to everyone's expectations and pace. It is characteristic of private lessons that can really be as close as possible to the students, without the pressure linked to institutions such as music schools.
When possible, students can play in groups, sometimes I even organize a small orchestra with all those who are interested. Two hearings on average per year allow you to meet and give a purpose to the work.

Music for all ages and all tastes,
I offer fun, individual or group musical awakening lessons as well as violin, viola and viola da gamba lessons. (The latter is a bit exotic and discovery sessions are possible for lovers of early music as well as for the curious)
Each student has their ambitions and desires, so it is important to tailor-made education with personalized objectives.
Graduated from the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, the Royal Academy of Music in London as well as the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, I perfected both ancient and modern music. I have been fortunate enough to be able to live in the UK for several years, which results in an excellent knowledge of the ABRSM structure in which 100% of the exams presented by my students have been passed.

I am 3rd Concertmaster of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and have an extensive performing and teaching experience. I have been guest concertmaster of many European orchestras and have recently relocated to Geneva. All levels of playing are welcome, but I can be particularly helpful with more advanced students. My experience in some of the world's best orchestra especially enables me to provide help with audition preparation, orchestral excerpts, and concertmaster solos. I look forward to hearing from you!

My violin method focuses on finding natural body movements, and I encourage ensemble playing to hear the harmonies in the music. Let's discover together how natural and fun playing the violin can be!

Violin lessons are for everyone, regardless of age – you can start from the age of 2. The only requirement is that you own an instrument; for children, I can help you choose the right size and explain everything clearly.

Classes are tailored to each student—you can start with the basics, work on existing material, or expand your skills. I also offer piano lessons, music theory, and ear training.

With regular practice, you'll learn to play cleanly, rhythmically, and with pleasure. In my teaching, I combine musical experience, passion, and psychological knowledge to make lessons effective and engaging.

I offer lessons at home or in my space in Lancy, and the duration of the lessons is adapted to the needs of each student.

ENGLISH
The violin course is open to everyone, regardless of age – you can start as early as 2 years old. The only requirement is having an instrument; for children, I can help choose the right size and explain everything clearly.

Lessons are tailored individually to each student – you can start from the basics, practical school material, or develop your skills further. I also offer support with piano, music theory, and ear training.

With regular practice, you will learn to play cleanly, in rhythm, and with enjoyment. In my teaching, I combine musical experience, passion, and psychological knowledge to make lessons effective and friendly.

I offer lessons at your home or at my place in Lancy, and the duration of each lesson is adjusted to the student's needs.
