I currently work as a Recorder Teacher at an all girls school in London (remotely). I have recently graduated from a Masters degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and am now looking for new pupils in Amsterdam.
I have an encouraging and supportive teaching method, and am happy to prepare pupils for practical music examinations if they wish. I have experience with both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall syllabuses. I am willing to travel to teach pupils within Amsterdam as well as provide online music tuition to students further afield.

I pride myself on my encouraging and enthusiastic teaching approach, and my ability to flexibly adapt my teaching approach to suit the student's needs.

I have 6 years of teaching experience, working with children aged 7 to adult pupils, from a variety of different backgrounds.

I believe that my encouraging approach can get the best out of every student, and help them to flourish to their full potential.

Expérience / Qualifications

After graduating from the Royal College of Music in London, I worked as a private instrumental tutor and a postgraduate assistant at the Godolphin and Latymer School in Hammersmith for 3 years. This role gave me lots of experience teaching Clarinet, Recorder and Music Theory, as well as more general musical topics such as Studio and Sound Engineering, Dance Music Remix, Samba and Ukelele classes.

For the past four years I was also a Live Music Now artist in London, undertaking training to work in SEND schools to help differently abled children access music.

If you want to learn to play the piano, or to improve your piano playing, I can help you develop your technique and musicality. I am a piano coach at the conservatoire in Zwolle, and I am able to apply those skills to teaching amateur musicians as well.

I am teaching composition, piano, theory/harmony, & ear-training. I graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as a contemporary composer.

I am very open to the stylistic choices of the students and adapt the lesson to fit their particular needs or interests.
When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer.
My approach to teaching piano is highly influenced by my composition studies, both in stylistic diversity and in pedagogical methods. I find it important to teach piano in an overall way, one that incorporates ear-training but also theory together with playing. This way i find that the lesson becomes much more stimulating, and it also becomes much more easy to learn.

I have experience teaching adults but also young kids between 4-15 years old. I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is firstly a fun and then a challenging adventure.

My name is Mathilde, I am a French violinist, pianist, harpsichordist, producer and composer.
I have graduated from the world’s great institutions such as the Royal College of Music London, Manhattan School of Music New-York, Brussels Royal Conservatory, and Paris-Sorbonne University (in musicology).
I have been performing concerts around the world in the most prestigious concert halls including the Châtelet Theatre and Seine Musicale (Paris), the National Opera House (Oman) and La Scala (Milan), as well as many other venues in Europe, US, China, Middle-East. During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam.

With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). Based on the teaching experiences I have, I can consider myself as a teacher with patience, motivating style and an open mind. Happy to provide references from my previous students from Amsterdam / Paris / Milan if requested.

Next to my technical teaching skills, I am also actively involving in various musical projects. I have recently performed for major TV shows in Paris: Le Grand Échiquier (France 2), Variations (France Télévisions, Culturbox), and I am currently making my first classical / electronic album in Amsterdam.

With a background melting classical and contemporary clarinet performance, to theatrical movement, masks, and storytelling, I bring a fresh approach to music education.
