I am a very hard-working, determined and approachable teacher with a good sense of humor and am very patient. I am enthusiastic, outgoing and a real people person who cares about others.
I really enjoy teaching and get real pleasure watching individuals learn. having done it for so many years i know what works for different individuals and can tailor my resources to the needs of different students. Having fun and enjoying your learning forms a key part to my approach to teaching.
I have taught for over 30 years in France, Spain, England, Ireland and most recently in Cyprus and have encountered people of all ages and abilities with and without SEN and I can always find a way of overcoming difficulties without making students feel self conscious or uncomfortable. 13 years teaching Spanish and French in The Bay School, Isle of wight, England.
1 year teaching Spanish up to International A level at Foley's School, Limassol, Cyprus. Last results: A2 level - 5 students - 3 A*.

To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset.

You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.

Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible.

Taking time to practise speaking the language you are learning is crucial in the development of your active vocabulary. This will allow you to communicate with greater fluency and confidence.
You can suggests topics or discuss a variety of topics like hobbies and passions, work and travel or anything that you would like to work on. Throughout the class I will keep track of any and all vocabulary that you were unfamiliar with and go over them with you as well as send the list to you at the end of the class, to keep track of words and expressions as you encounter them.
I have several games that I believe to be well suited for the learning of vocabulary. These will add an element of fun to the process of learning.
