Drum teacher, College Degree on Music Arts. More than 20 years of experience giving private drum lessons and music ensemble.
Depending on the interests of each student, the lessons can be oriented to the development of technique, theory, reading and musical writing as well as to the study of repertoire in different styles of popular music.

I have a background of 7 years of classical piano and I also have been studing and playing Jazz (drums) for the past 8 years of my life (currently finishing my studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

My goal is to teach people with no experience in music or drums and want to learn the basics of music theory, solfège and drums but also to more experienced students who want to improve their technique, coordination, sound, groove, etc.

I can also teach different musical genres on the drums, depending on the taste of the student

Drum and percussion classes with different methodologies depending on the student's objectives. From classes for those who start in the world of the drums to special classes of reinforcement for students who study music to a medium degree.

I offer classes at home where I will prepare the student to overcome his challenges and help him to achieve his dream of being a great musician. The students who decide to start playing will teach them from the most elementary (basic technique, musical reading, theory) to more advanced material such as musicality, learning different styles (jazz, rock, Samba, Funk, etc), improvisation, and much more.

The drumset is one of the most important and powerful instruments in a music ensemble. It does not only provide the rhythm and groove foundation for all the other instruments - it also defines the sound of the band, the character of the songs, the volume... just like an orchestra conductor.

In these lessons (which are of course personalized and open depending on the interests of the student) we will work beyond the physical/mechanical aspect of the drums (technique, coordination, etc) into the musical aspect, so we will spend some time listening and analyzing music together, working on ear training and music theory from a practical point of view.

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, this course will focus on your personal interests as a musician. We will explore the instrument from a contemporary perspective based on tradition in order to not only survive in any musical context, but also exceed expectations. We will work together to develop all aspects of a good contemporary drummer: technique, control, coordination, independence, creativity and expression. Hi, my name is Carlos. I was born and raised in Spain and I have been living and teaching in Amsterdam for the last six years. I have a bachelor degree in jazz drums performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and more than10 years teaching experience with all ages (from 3y/o to adults) and levels (from beginners to people auditioning to higher education institutions).
I play drums and percussion across many genres, jazz, flamenco, rock, pop, punk, folk, and more! I believe in tailoring my classes to my students interests, so let me know what your goals are and we will work to get you there!
