I am an experienced chess coach currently teaching around 50 students across Rugby and Daventry, working with children from 5 years old up to more advanced levels. My lessons are engaging, structured, and tailored to each child’s ability. In my classes, students will learn: • The fundamentals of chess (rules, piece movement, checkmate patterns) • Key tactics and strategies to improve their thinking • How to plan ahead, stay focused, and build confidence • Practical game experience through guided play I teach both complete beginners and children who already know how to play and want to improve. My goal is to make chess fun while helping each student make real progress. I also regularly organise children’s chess tournaments in Rugby, giving students the chance to gain real game experience in a friendly environment. All lessons are conducted face-to-face, as I believe this is the most effective and productive way for children to learn and stay engaged.
