As a five-year-old child, I already knew that I wanted to become a 'Biologist'. I acquired knowledge of wild plants, shells, and fossils at a young age through my father, a primary school teacher.
After working for several years as a microbiology analyst in a hospital laboratory, I went on to study Biology in Leiden. After my studies, I worked as a scientific researcher for 10 years at various universities in England and America. I also worked as a researcher at the Natural History Museum in London.

I returned to the Netherlands at the end of 2017. Through my studies, my work as a scientific researcher, and as a medical analyst, I have developed broad subject-specific knowledge. I would like to use my knowledge and enthusiasm for Biology to help high school students and university students through tutoring, exam preparation, and thesis supervision.

Furthermore, I am a great nature lover; I lead nature excursions and am a public guide at the Natural History Museum in Rotterdam.

As a five-year-old child, I already knew that I wanted to become a 'Biologist'. I acquired knowledge of wild plants, shells, and fossils at a young age through my father, a primary school teacher.
After working for several years as a microbiology analyst in a hospital laboratory, I went on to study Biology in Leiden. After my studies, I worked as a scientific researcher for 10 years at various universities in England and America. I also worked as a researcher at the Natural History Museum in London.

I returned to the Netherlands at the end of 2017. Through my studies, my work as a scientific researcher, and as a medical analyst, I have developed broad subject-specific knowledge. I would like to use my knowledge and enthusiasm for Biology to help high school students and university students through tutoring, exam preparation, and thesis supervision.

Furthermore, I am a great nature lover; I lead nature excursions and am a public guide at the Natural History Museum in Rotterdam.

Giving tutoring lessons has helped me enormously to provide tailored guidance to pupils and students. I adapt to the wishes of the pupils or students and can illustrate theory with practical examples (daily life, nature, laboratory, research).

Possibilities:

- Biology tutoring (mostly online, sometimes on location) for VMBO, HAVO, VWO, MBO, and HBO; lower, upper, or exam year.
- Thesis supervision or help with internship report (microbiology, laboratory, biology), also in English
Long-term tutoring is possible, but also 1 or 2 lessons (as preparation for a test or exam, for example).

Hi, I'm Maidi ! I'm a 3rd year medicine student aspiring to become a cardiovascular surgeon, I always have had a keen interest for biology since I was 11. I'm always very excited to share my interest and fascination with willing students by helping them form a strong foundation, building-up on said foundation and feeding their curiosity while also helping with success in their exams. I can confidently provide tutorship in English and Turkish.

My main goal for each lecture is to first make sure you are having fun learning the astonishing world of biology and second making sure you are learning with logic and understanding instead of memorizing the material given just to pass an exam. I aim to provide a safe learning environment where no question is out of bounds. I also provide with quizzes according to the topic done after the lectures in order to ensure lasting memory.
