I hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Anthropology, Theology, Native American and Religious Studies. Additionally, I successfully completed all program requirements for earning the Oxford Advanced 220-Hour TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certificate with specializations in Teaching English Grammar, Teaching Business English, Teaching IELTS and TOEFL Preparation, and Teaching English to Young Learners.

Currently, I am the Subject Matter Expert and Lead Instructor for Cultural Anthropology classes in the College of Professional Studies, University of New England Maine. I recently served five months as a Peace Corps Virtual Service Pilot Volunteer assisting the Philippines Science High School with their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Curriculum Revision Project.

I love tutoring because I enjoy the one-on-one interaction I experience in assisting others achieve their own specific learning goals. Every student is unique and presents a different set of needs, expectations, abilities and ethnographic background. I have found tutoring and teaching to be immensely intrinsically rewarding because my students always appreciate the professional and empathetic assistance I am able to provide to them.

I have experience teaching domestically in the United States, and internationally in Nicaragua, Ecuador and Colombia. I was proud to serve nearly three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English and nutrition classes, along with developing the UNESCO TiNi Program in Cuenca, Ecuador.

There are plenty of tips and tricks out there, and I am here to help you not only learn about them but to put them to good practice. Be it referencing or expanding your vocabulary or improving the structures of your papers: it can all be learned!
This class is preferably for a single student, however groups may apply as well. I intend to create a productive learning environment, whereby you as the student will be practicing a lot so that your progress is permanent and you can easily apply your new knowledge in class. I offer an approach to writing that goes beyond the basic technical details. This is because when it comes to writing, I believe the personal is the most important. By talking to you about your experience of writing, I will help you realize your project to its fullest creative potential. Questions about your project will include: How do you plan it? What goes through your head when you sit down to start? What role does re-reading and editing play in your writing process? It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how.
