Thanks to math-focused workshops I attended throughout my primary and high school, I have learned how to explain mathematical concepts in simple language. This is what matters most to me — that the students I tutor truly understand mathematics. That is why I use elements of the Hejny method, which is based on guiding students to solve the problems on their own. I mainly ask questions or further explain the theory, which helps students work more independently on problems. It is important to me that we have enough time to focus not only on what students are currently covering at school, but also on strengthening the fundamentals, which will help them succeed more in the future. I tutor elementary and high school students who feel unsure about mathematics, and I believe that through working together we can help them feel confident and at home with math.
