Hello and welcome!

I am an experienced English language teacher and certified Cambridge examiner based in the Vaud region of Switzerland. With over 15 years of teaching experience, I specialise in helping French-speaking learners develop confidence, fluency and exam success.

I offer targeted preparation for Cambridge qualifications, including:
B2 First (FCE)
C1 Advanced (CAE)
Young Learners (YLE – Starters, Movers, Flyers)

My courses are structured, goal-oriented and adapted to each learner’s needs. As an examiner, I understand exactly what is required to succeed — and I train my students accordingly, focusing on speaking performance, exam strategies, grammar accuracy and lexical range.

I also work with young learners (from age 7), supporting them step-by-step towards internationally recognised qualifications in a motivating and engaging way.

Lessons are available in person (Vaud region) and online.

Bildung

Master’s degree in Art History and Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages, complemented by a CELTA qualification in English language teaching. Certified Cambridge examiner with ongoing professional development in assessment and language pedagogy.

I have over 15 years of experience teaching English as a lingua franca for business, academic and personal purposes. I specialise in exam preparation and professional communication, working with both adults and young learners.

In addition to English, I also speak Swedish and Finnish fluently and occasionally teach Art History and Scandinavian languages.

I was born in the UK, though having been raised internationally, I have learned and mastered 2 other languages myself (French and German) and have found that the workplace can be one of the most challenging places to be when you do not speak the language everyone else speaks.

Even if your company operates in German or French predominantly, often times there will be clients or other international offices where English is required. There is nothing worse than being in a meeting, or on a conference call, or even getting a coffee and not understanding the conversation.

Let me help you to master everything from phrases you may not recognise to small talk. Anything you are having trouble understanding, you have the comfort of knowing I can further explain in either German or French when necessary.

If you have difficulties in German and/or English at primary, secondary, gymnasium or apprenticeship level, I can help you consolidate the basics, fill gaps and improve your language level. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in English and German at the University of Lausanne and am currently doing a Master's degree in English and German. I obtained my bilingual baccalaureate in German and I completed a long stay for English (level C2) in Dublin and a one-year university exchange for German in Berlin. The learning of the English and German language is done in a proactive and stimulating way, learning via the active way with simulation and exercise in order to obtain optimal results after a more or less short period of learning, through the grammar and vocabulary in order to learn the real language used by the English and German populations.
Regarding chemistry lessons, learning through visualization with contextual settings and explanations accompanied by examples is necessary to fully understand. Teach the student to get into the habit of doing his exercises and to understand the statements so that he is able to do them alone.

I give lessons in 5 different languages, my goal being primarily to make people love the language, by giving varied, fun lessons adapted to each student. I take into account the needs and desires of the latter and prepare my lessons accordingly. I am very open-minded, I include writing, speaking, reading, games and exercises of all kinds in order to respect everyone's needs.
I am also always available to answer questions at any time!

Being currently at university in social and political science, giving support classes at the same time allows me to take a break from my classes and if I can do it while helping others, it is with great pleasure! I have been giving support classes to younger people since I started at the gym. I did it initially via the CVAJ. So I'm used to it, and I know how to structure my lessons with ease and give advice if necessary.

I give English lessons to children and teenagers. I hold the First Certificate obtained in 2019. I can help you or your child prepare for their tests or maturity exam. I can help strengthen your grammatical knowledge.
