Welcome, this class can be taken as an introduction to or expert refinement of aural skills. Students will learn to achieve fluency with the basic materials of tonal music and develop the practical aural skills expected of every professional musician. These include a proficiency in sight singing and dictation, an immediate recognition of musical idioms, an ability to communicate musical ideas with the voice, proficiency in executing a variety of basic rhythmic and metric concepts and the continued development of musical memory.
