My name is Douglas, and I'm a patient and very friendly young man. I have been tutoring mathematics for 9 years, since I was studying in high-school in England myself.

I have tutored a diverse spectrum of people, from young kids, to middle-aged students with experience working with people of varying competencies, from children with learning difficulties up to university level mathematics.

I have a 1st Class Hons. degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Quantitative Financial Economics, for which I was awarded a Scholarship and graduated from with a Distinction. I thoroughly enjoy working with young people and teaching really is something I genuinely love.

I am by nature a very relaxed and laid-back individual. My patience and calmness are some of my greatest assets as a private tutor, whilst my ability to very clearly articulate and explain technical concepts are some others.

I feel very confident in my ability to teach. My methods are simple and clear. I articulate slowly, and carefully without taking for granted or assuming any prior knowledge to a concept. I explain in an exhaustive manner, to ensure I'm not skipping over any gaps in the students knowledge. I do this very patiently whilst repeating myself and explaining myself by other means, so the student can slowly put together the necessary elements to understand the problem.

I am a MSc in Civil Engineering, M.Sc in Finance and Economics, and an MBA graduate with over 14 years of experience teaching Mathematics up to the undergraduate level. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students and have successfully helped them excel in their studies. In addition to my extensive teaching background, I have more than 7 years of experience guiding students through standardized tests such as the GRE and SAT. My goal is to help you master these tests with effective strategies and a clear understanding of the subject matter.
