Violin and Viola Lessons! Learn a string instrument.

Having recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a masters degree in performance, I am looking to take on more students who are wishing to learn an upper string instrument.
I have 8 years of teaching experience, and have taught students of all ages and abilities.
I am able to travel to students location or teach online.

Having spent over 70% of my life in music education, I have seen almost every outcome of the system and pride myself in coming out one of the top schools in the UK with the knowledge I need to make my teaching the best it can be. I have first hand experience in teaching small groups, individuals and whole classes and have been doing so for many years.
During my time as a teacher, I have developed the ability to adapt my teaching approach to each student’s needs which is extremely valuable skill. When I was a student, my teachers methods seemed very mechanical and I often found myself having to look for new ways to try things, essentially teaching myself as my teachers were out of their comfort zone. I try to look outside the box for my students to make sure they are never left to ‘teach for themselves’.
I take a beginner ensemble every week to help prepare students for their transition into an orchestral setting, where they go from absolute beginner to being able to play to a grade one standard. We also have a concert at the end of each term which allows parents or guardians to see how their children are progressing which is a hugely important step.
I currently have a number of students preparing for ABRSM exams which they will be sitting in February, and are on track to receive Distinctions.
Alongside teaching I am a freelance performer not long out of music college myself, auditioning and playing gigs on the side therefore I am always keeping up with my own playing.
