A level and GCSE Chemistry Lessons and English Lang

Very enthusiastic chemistry teacher, really passionate about sharing my knowledge of chemistry and helping to motivate my students to develop their understanding, build their confidence and achieve better A level and GCSE chemistry results. My classes are based on the New A level -2015 syllabus for A level AQA, OCR and EDEXCEL. The revision guidance for each of these exam boards are split into different modules and I am to cover/ teach 1 or 2 topics within each 60 minute lesson class. These classes are tailored to suit each individual student needs. I am flexible and offer lessons at teachers location, students locations or online via webcam.

I really enjoyed chemistry and achieved excellent GCSE and Alevel chemistry results. I have also just completed my university undergraduate studies at the school of pharmacy which involves a lot of chemistry. I am currently completing my post graduate masters studies. My interest, knowledge and passion for chemistry has been demonstrated through my educational achievements and I am really looking forward to using this knowledge to help students achieve excellent results.

Learn Chemistry and English from a very enthusiastic and motivating teacher. I grew up in London and have lived here most of my life. I have also previously lived in Canada and Gernmany. I have always enjoyed teaching from childhood and will always teach my peers and helped my friends with their homework, throughout GCSE, A level and University. This class is designed for anyone who would like to improve their English skills, from beginner to advanced levels. I speak German and Romanian fluently in addition to English, as well as conversational Chinese and Spanish, which may make it easier for some. I tailor the class to suit the individual; after a first session I can assess the student's goal (ie. conversational, business, written, etc. level of English) and create a program to suit this.

Can learning English be fun, insightful, productive and effective at the same time? I believe so!

Whatever your background or profession, deciding to learn a foreign language is a great way to add another dimension to your life and make your mind work in a new way. You become a (slightly) different person, since along with a new language, one learns to look at the world in a slightly different way. This is why my approach to teaching English is not only aimed at laying or strengthening the foundational knowledge - grammar, speaking, writing and listening skills, but also at introducing students to the culture of the English-speaking population. We will find out what English speakers find funny, what drives them to tears, what makes them feel proud and what they get embarrassed about.

Open to students of all levels, my course usually is taught online, using a variety of visual aids and a wide range of material, from textbooks to YouTube videos. In teaching advanced learners, I often refer to pieces of literature such as novels and poems, since they easily spark discussions, which in turn improves the students' grasp and feel of the language. In doing so, I take students beyond ordinary textbooks and grammar books, since they are no more than guides to learning, not absolute authorities, and because to me language is a living, constantly evolving matter, which you must submerge yourself into in order to understand.

In addition to my unorthodox approach, what sets me apart is a collection of unique, language-related experiences, which translate into a good ability to understand nuances of the English language. A native Russian speaker, I have lived in the UK for over 5 years, went to a Scottish boarding school and have even completed a university degree in English. I deliver my teachings with a combination of questioning and inquiry approaches.
An initial assessment of the level of understanding of my students is very important. This enables me know where to start/continue with them. By this I can move them from known to unknown.
