Hello! Are you ready to build up your English? Have a good foundation but want to feel more fluent? Have a test you need to ace? I'm a native speaker from Boston, MA, USA, trained in California and taught 4 years of high school at LAUSD. After moving to Europe, I taught EAL (English as an Additional Language) in Warsaw, Copenhagen, Spain, Boston and now in Basel to both adults and teens.

I help you my (future) student reach your personal goals - whether it's passing an exam like the FCE, IELTS, CAE, CPE or maybe you'd like to focus on professional work goals like presentations or emails, or perhaps you'd like to improve your social skills and become more confident in fluency in conversation - it's up to you!

Hello, again! So, some more about me. I am a former Californian who fell in with Europe. A lover of languages, literature, architecture, design, culture, travel, and adventures. I am a humanist and believe knowledge is "constructed" through engaging direct experiences. I am inspired by designing and teaching modern lessons that are based on your passions, curiosity, goals, and learning style.

Each of my students is unique, but I typically use short videos or clips (which you can watch beforehand or together) as a starting point from which we do various grammar, vocab work, and conversation activities that are relevant to your interests and ambitions. At the beginning of your study, we will set your target, a general timeline, and organize your study plan around that.

I have taught basically every type of student, including my 7 year-old son English! If you have a specific goal like passing the FCE or IELTS, I would recommend a structured formal study plan. Or perhaps you have a more ambiguous goal of becoming a "confident English speaker"? If that's the case, we can organize different simulations and practice conversations on some of your favorite subjects, your profession, or current topics. It is ultimately up to you because it is YOUR fluency we are developing.

My goal is to create an engaging constructivist workshop climate where you tap into your background knowledge and connect it to the "real world" as you are actively building your own associations and understandings IN ENGLISH and opening new doors and opportunities for your future.
