Hatha Flow Yoga is appropriate for beginners at any age. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, spirit and mind in preparation for meditation. Classes typically start with a gentle warm - up, advance to more physical poses, and end with a short period of meditation.
Most of our classes will start with a period of focus on your breath or pranayama. As you go through the poses, I will keep reminding you to focus on your breath and offer you different breathing exercises.
Poses range in difficulty from laying flat on the floor to physically challenging positions. If any time during our class, a pose is too difficult, I can show you a modified posture.
Classes end with a short period of meditation. During this period of quiet reflexion, you lie on your back and cover yourself with a blanket. I can take you through a guided meditation and place a drop of essential oil in the palm of your hand.
