3D Character / Props Design, learn how to make your own character and/or props using Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter and Marvelous Designer

in this class i will teach you how to make a character for videogame. you will be taught how to approach it by using software like zbrush, maya, substance painter, etc
we will start with discussing the concept and then proceed to sketching in zbrush, then we make the costume using Marvelous Designer and/or zbrush, at the same time we will create the gears and any accessories needed for the character, after that we go to maya for retopo, then toolbag for baking, sp for texturing and finally we render it in toolbag

We will cover:

- advanced modelling
- high resolution modeling/sculpting
- low resolution modeling (retopology)
- texturing
- materials
- lighting
- rendering (real time rendering)

note that this class require more than one session to help you achieve what you want, simply you ask me to help you with the things you don't know of the process

you need to know how to use the mentioned software specially maya and zbrush (if you want you can use alternative application but i teach using those). if not check my other class to get you started using those powerful programs

All sections in Part I (artistic practice, visual language, world-building, technical and digital foundations) are approached according to the student’s existing level, from beginner to advanced. If foundational skills are already present, these areas will not be repeated mechanically; instead, the focus will shift toward portfolio development, conceptual depth, and refinement of existing work.

Portfolio development & mentorship

1. Portfolio building

• Defining the student’s artistic direction
• Selecting and developing strong themes
• Creating cohesive series, not isolated images
• Aligning personal style with academic or professional expectations
• Consistent review, feedback, and refinement

2. Application-specific support (where applicable)

• Portfolio selection & sequencing
• Artist statements or motivation letters (with visuals)
• Adapting work to specific institutions or programs
• Understanding evaluation criteria
