I studied Spanish Philology and Literature and learned how to become a teacher at Universidad Nacional de Salta, Argentina. I've also completed a specific ELE training certification from Universidad Europea Madrid, and I'm certified as DELE examiner by Instituto Cervantes.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

I am offering English lessons to students of all ages and levels as part of school, exam preparation, or just out of interest in vocabulary, grammar, and/or pronunciation. My experience has been mostly with children individually or in group lessons learning English as a second language of ages between 7 and 17. My aim is to help students establish a goal and help them along the path of reaching that goal, with clear progress milestones. I speak English at native level but I can also teach in Dutch depending on your needs. I have an English-spoken Bachelor's Degree in Politics and Law, having received an A on my International Human Rights Law thesis, a 1560/1600 on my SAT and 5/5 in AP English Language. I am also happy to do exam-specific tutoring.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR LEARNING.

Hey,

My name is Laurie and I am an independent FLE teacher, graduated in French and Romance languages and literature since 2012. I have five years of experience under my belt (abroad and in Belgium). I have created a teaching method for online courses.

The course includes:
-The material (articles, videos, exercises from images and texts, grammatical theory, links to the exercises...). I use Google Doc so it's best to have a Gmail address to access it.
-The correction of exercises outside of class (the written expressions are corrected outside of class, or with the student, according to his needs).
-Access to an application (free) to study vocabulary on your smartphone.
-A vocabulary sheet - pronunciation - grammar / conjugation, sent after each course.
-If necessary, a vocabulary recording (for beginners).
-The realization of online exercises and tests from the sent vocabulary sheets.
-Motivation, laughter, good mood :-)

My method:
- It's based on speaking.
-For grammar I use a question/answer method (learned during the training at the CERAN center).
-We work on pronunciation with the verbotonal method (exercises for setting your voice, for rhythm, etc.). I might even make you sing! :-)
-Everything goes through the spoken word before the written word, but I clearly adapt to the needs of the students.
-The course is a little different for children and adolescents: I use interactive games and cards via webcam.
