I have 20 years of experience working as a full-time ESL Program Specialist. I have worked with K-12 students in the public schools and for the past 14 years in a university Intensive English Program. I hold a Master of Science Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Wilkes University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Misericordia University. In addition to teaching classes in reading, writing, listening/speaking and grammar. I have specialized in teaching TOEFL and IELTS test preparation courses to intermediate and advanced level students in the IEP.
I particularly love the challenge of equipping my students with the skills, strategies and positive mindset that are critical for success on the high stakes IELTS and TOEFL tests. My students consistently experience a high level of success in achieving their desired test scores. My teaching style is highly communicative and interactive. A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

I am offering English lessons to students of all ages and levels as part of school, exam preparation, or just out of interest in vocabulary, grammar, and/or pronunciation. My experience has been mostly with children individually or in group lessons learning English as a second language of ages between 7 and 17. My aim is to help students establish a goal and help them along the path of reaching that goal, with clear progress milestones. I speak English at native level but I can also teach in Dutch depending on your needs.
