My name is Celia.

I started at age 16 working as a fitness instructor. I understood instantly that the teacher / coach's challenge is to make the student / client feel safe and trust.

I learned Italian directly in Italy. Therefore I am aware of the difficulties encountered. The first is that many times we don't know our own language.

My classes therefore focus on the communicative. I am interested that communication is fluid and simple.

I work with audiovisual and text materials.

Since 2012 I teach in high schools in Uruguay.

Mi nombre es Celia desde pequeña tengo la vocación de enseñante.

Empecé a los 16 años trabajando como instructora de fitness. Comprendí al instante que el desafío del docente/entrenador está en hacer que el estudiante/cliente se sienta seguro y confíe.

Yo aprendí italiano directamente en Italia. Por ende soy consciente de las dificultades que se encuentran. La primera es que muchas veces desconocemos nuestro propio idioma.

Mis clases por ende se centran en lo comunicativo. Me interesa que la comunicación sea fluida y simple.

Trabajo con materiales audiovisuales y de texto.

Desde el 2012 doy clases en los liceos de Uruguay.

I was born in Italy, but I have spent the last two years of my life traveling the world, mainly in Central and South America and the Middle East and Central Asia, traveling and working remotely.

I am a professional teacher with 7 years of experience. I worked on the translation of medical and legal articles, and panels in the glass museum in Venice and worked as an interpreter at the court of Venice.
I have a language degree, I am certified in international law, and I am a language coach. Language coach means that I not only teach you a language but also how to learn new languages!

Every lesson, a new thematic: you will learn how to deal in the most common situation with immersive focus on everyday life & job situation. Relax and just speak!

-As a qualified and experienced teacher, I ensure you make real progress, helping you successfully achieve your goals and communicate with confidence in Italian. I prefer not to use vehicular languages but don't worry, I have plurilingual and pluricultural competences so, if you need, we can speak English, French, Arabic (MSA and Tunisian) or Spanish! Together, we'll work on interaction, dialogue, oral production and comprehension, focusing on fluency, lexis and vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. I'll give you access to a range of free resources and authentical materials like videos, audios, newspapers, and books, for sure.

- My method: I follow a communicative and non-frontal approach in which the student always has a leading role and is stimulated to experiment with the structures and the vocabulary learned. In general, during a lesson, I give equal space to the reinforcement of each competence (comprehension and oral production, comprehension and written production, grammatical insights), but at the request of the student, it is possible to focus on particular objectives. I offer students a wide range of Italian language books for foreigners and the choice of texts or materials to follow will be done together. Multimedia materials such as audio and video and interactive activities.
