My name is Valeria and I am a professional interpreter and teacher of Greek. I am happy to invite you to my Modern Greek online classes. I would love to become your personal assistant to achieve great results with Greek.

Greek is an incredibly beautiful language and I devoted 5 years of University studying it. Afterwards, I have worked as an interpreter in a diplomatic field. I have lived and studied in Greece and learned everything possible about this wonderful language and culture. I can confidently say that I know all the peculiarities of the language and would love to share with you all the tricks of how to master it in the shortest period of time possible. I have all the necessary qualifications and experience to guarantee you a professional approach.

During our lessons we will:

- develop fluent reading skills
- learn and constantly repeat all the basic vocabulary each time introducing new words and phrases
- gradually learn how to build different grammar structures
- develop speaking skills by introducing simple phrases and sentences from our very first lessons. Every single lesson we will finish with a dialogue which will force you to go out of your comfort zone and start understanding and using the language.

There is nothing more than love to the languages for me. As a polyglot myself I know how to teach others a language. I speak Russian, Ukrainian, English, German and Greek.

I have been teaching for 4 years now. I have worked with people from many countries and this has become not just my job but also my greatest hobby. My favorite part of this work is that I see my students getting great result. I feel happy to see them starting from zero and achieving fluency.

I am a native speaker of Greek. I graduated from a Greek high school and, later, the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics.

During our lessons, I'll help you develop your skills (oral/written, and not only). I'll also try to help you improve your pronunciation and spelling. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary.

I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching Greek, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels, mainly individually.

I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face).

During my lessons I use :
- Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you,
- Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep,
- sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc.
- books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc.
- pronunciation/spelling/grammar games,
- authentic materials were taken from websites.

I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding.

Ancient Greek is one of the oldest languages in the world. A multitude of literary and philosophical texts have been written in this language. Later, Latin will take up many elements of the heritage of ancient Greek. Today, about 10% of the words in the French language have an ancient Greek origin.
