Many language’s schools focus on the formal spoken Portuguese and when it comes to Brazilian Portuguese the formal form is not used that much.
I want to help you to understand the language, the culture, the music, the food and all that you wish to know about Brazil.
I am from São Paulo, a really big and multicultural city, and have been traveling around the world since I am little. Thus, I can help you understand Brazilian’s behaviors and traditions compared to other places in the world.

I am a Dutch-American citizen currently living in Amsterdam. Born in the Netherlands, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia when I was 8 years old and lived there until I moved back to Holland 2 years ago.

Knowing how important English is for the modern-day world, I strive to teach my students my language in a clear and fun way. I am available to all class levels. I am a Vietnamese native (born and raised in Hanoi) who has lived in the UK for 2 years, and now in my 8th year living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I am currently working full-time at an international Dutch company and tutoring Vietnamese is my favorite hobby!

This class will introduce you to various aspects of the Vietnamese alphabet, grammar, and spelling. I will also provide speaking practice at the end of every class. This class is designed for those of you who are interested in the Vietnamese language, as well as Vietnamese culture.

New vocabulary for each topic will be discussed. My study background is in Mathematics and Statistics, thus with the combination of languages you can expect 'a bit' of reasoning logic behind all lessons I give (which I think gives some structure to the lessons as well)!

Italian is a fascinating and sweet language. Would you like to learn it or to improve your prior knowledge about it? I offer you the chance to do it in a friendly and relaxed way, using some of the best professional teaching methods. In part this is because working in a second language slows down the thinking. No wonder people feel different when speaking a second language. And no wonder they feel looser, more spontaneous, perhaps more assertive or funnier or blunter.
Studies show that being able to speak another language is generally linked to a more flexible brain, developing the brain’s ability to plan and prioritize. Also it betters our defenses against dementia in old age.

For the past 5 years I've had more than 50 students and based on experience I recommend the following lesson duration (minutes):

Focus on diverse subjects is possible, for example, grammar, diction, reading comprehension, written production, conversational skills. Because the goal of most students is the ability to communicate, I’ve been developing my classes that way. I have acquired extra audio media specially for you :) to hear Portuguese being spoken at a different pace, accent and voice tone.

My method is based on a book (that I myself bring to the class and the student doesn’t need to acquire) which I'm fairly familiar by now. But what I really like is to talk to the student. So the book will be used to present the gramatical structure of the language while also serving as an inspiration platform for conversation topics.
Periodically we will evaluate how the classes are evolving so as to rapidly and effectively shift focus to where it is needed.

English has become the Lingua Franca of our times. It's a valuable skill to possess, beneficial for everyone. It comes handy in the ever-developing world that we live in and opens doors to many places, also in the mind. Additionally, bilingualism enhances the cognitive skills.

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals.

Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
