Ciao a tutti/Konnichiwa/Hello! My name is Amelia and I am a Canadian-born British/Japanese cellist currently based in Italy living in the Republic of San Marino. Being a musician is not just learning how to learning only the technical aspects of the instrument, but also the skill of working with others in a professional environment. I found that the skills I learnt from music was not just about being proficient at my instrument, but to learn to have discipline and patience (Much easier said than done!). Teaching Mission: My mission for students is for them to learn to apply themselves in music or any field they decide to pursue. Growing up, I often mixed the dedication and time I needed to stay in a room practicing to living a life of isolation. It is not until very recently that I have felt the real benefits and what a gift to see how music really does bring me closer to people in a way that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Learning to be flexible and having the ability to adjust and respect people from other countries. Music is a universal language that unites people alongside food and sports!
