Korean teacher with an MA degree (in teaching Korean as a Foreign Language), currently working at the Sejong Institute (the equivalent of the British Council or Goethe Institute in the Korean language), offers private lessons for all levels.

- Courses are built to the needs and abilities of students from Korean Alphabet (한글) to TOPIK, from Sejong textbook to K-Pop lyrics.

1) Korean Alphabet (한글) & Basic expressions for beginners
2) General Korean language in four sections for all levels (Sejong)

After finishing the basic Korean conversation, you might want to study more to travel to South Korea or meet native Korean speakers. This course is designed for students who can read Korean and can speak basic Korean expressions. Besides, it is for those who want to learn more practical and advanced expressions they can use with native speakers. Before taking this course, students will take a level test to see if they are suitable for this course. They will learn how to make sentences, advanced expressions, and idioms, etc. We will be doing many role-plays and activities using textbooks or the materials I prepare. Students will have a test after finishing every chapter and will be given homework every lesson. We will study the practical expressions that Korean people use in daily life. Are you a complete beginner? No worries. Let's start by studying the correct pronunciation of sounds step by step, beginning with the 10 vowels: ᅡ, ᅣ, ᅥ, ᅧ, ᅩ, ᅭ, ᅮ, ᅲ, ᅳ.

I will guide you on how to pronounce them correctly, because good pronunciation is essential for learning any language. By starting with the fundamentals, we can make learning Korean easier and smoother. So, let's get started and master these important sounds together!

[Conversational Korean]
I am a big fan of Korean dramas, and I will use them as examples to show you how Korean is spoken in real life. This will help us develop a deeper understanding of the language and its nuances.

I will teach you how to speak Korean in both formal and informal settings, so that you can understand real Korean more effectively. My lessons are primarily designed for those who wish to improve their conversational Korean skills, and I will teach you how to speak in a fluent and natural way. Additionally, I will provide you with many expressions and phrases commonly used by native speakers to help you sound more like one.

I am also happy to assist with written Korean, whenever a student requires it.

Hallo! 안녕세요! Ik ben Aki en studeer binnenkort af met de bachelor studie "Koreastudies" aan de Universiteit van Leiden, waarvan ik een deel heb doorgebracht in Sogang University in Zuid-Korea. Tijdens mijn studie richt ik mij vooral op uitspraak en conversatie. Tijdens mijn verblijf in Korea merkte ik echter een groot verschil op tussen "lesboek-Koreaans" en het Koreaans dat mensen in het dagelijks leven spreken. In mijn lessen probeer ik dit verschil dan ook zo klein mogelijk te houden en ervoor te zorgen dat het zo natuurlijk mogelijk klinkt door te focussen op conversaties en moderne woordenschat. Daarbij werken we met grammatica, vocabulaire en conversaties rondom een overkoepelend thema.
Hoewel ik een basispakket heb voor beginners, vind ik het erg belangrijk om naar de doelen van de student te kijken. Mocht je specifieke doelen of suggesties hebben zoals het begrijpen van K-pop liedjes, K-drama's of het behalen van Topik level 1-2, ... dan stel ik met plezier een persoonlijk pakket samen met bijpassende thema's die we samen behandelen.
Ben je een volledige beginner? Maak je geen zorgen! Elk niveau is welkom! Stap voor stap leer je het lezen en schrijven van het alfabet door middel van handige, geheime tips die ik en andere stiekem ook gebruikte :).
