Über mich

Hello, I am a TEFL certified linguistics teacher. I am based in Angmering, on the South Coast of England. I am a native speaker of English, which I have taught in various public schools across Spain, as well as remotely with numerous language academies. I have also worked in secondary schools in the UK at GCSE level for French and Spanish, whereby I earned my PGCE.

I have a wealth of passion for MFLs (Modern Foreign Languages), as they enable us to better understand cultures that are different to our own. As well as expanding our vocabularies in the process which enhances our understanding of our own language.

I am a caring, empathetic person who always relishes enhancing my pupils ability to use the language confidently with self-expression.

I look forward to meeting and conversing with anyone who wants to start their journey with a new language, or perhaps seeks to improve what understanding they already have.

English (Your personal routines and the Present Continuous)

This session will discuss daily routines at school or work, as well as comparing and contrasting it with the week-end. We will use the days of the week to come up with your own routine from for each week. We will also learn some key vocabulary for this topic, such as tasks that could be performed, as well as practicing the present continuous.

The present continuous tense (using multiple examples) and explaining how this tense is used.

This session will be centered around the purpose of the present continuous, how it should be used and when to use it. During this session we will focus on the formation of the tense, breaking down different sentences in order to better understand endings of words using -ing.

Throughout the course of the lesson there will be a mix of production exercises, with a blend of both speaking and written tasks used. For example, an event of the daily events of a business worker will be looked at, with numerous continuous verbs used. At the end of the lesson, we will also begin to discuss the continuous action in the past and future.

I am an experienced German teacher, who taught for the last 5 years online and 1 to 1 lessons for a language centre (Brighton) The lessons are individually tailored, we will work on all 4 skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Lessons will be tailored around your individual language needs.
We work usually with a book from A1 - C1 and then with media (news articles and materials/videos from the internet). Lessons will be a mixture of reading texts and then answering questions or discussing the topic, listening exercises and free speaking. You also can read books (easy reader) or bring your own materials to the lessons. I teach grammar in context with texts, not independently. But students will develop in time a concept of the various elements in a sentence (pronoun, verb, preposition, adjective, noun, adverb etc) and get a clear picture of sentence structure (main and subordinate clauses and placement of verbs). Still, the main focus will be on conversation, students will immerse in the fascinating world of German words and expressions, doing role plays and practicing day to day situations. Developing not only their language skills but also their fantasy and improvisation skills.
