I have designed and detailed Reinforced Concrete, Steel, and Timber structures using Staad Pro and Autocad. I have taught at university too for 3 years. I prefer webcam for teaching sessions. My experience in starting a new Structural Project is as follows:
1. Get the CAD file from Architect.
2. Overlay floor plans to position columns, beams, and slabs.
3. Draw the frame in Staad Pro.
4. Analysis is done to get Moments and Shears on Structural elements of the Model.
5. Design the model to get the adequate cost effective number of bars, section sizes, and depth of all structural elements.
6. Details all structural elements in CAD.
7. Make a Structural Report ready for stamp from a licensed Engineer.
