Teaching English as a foreign language and English (subject) to Junior and Leaving Cert students

After our first conversation on your goals and situation, I will tailor our lessons to suit your individual needs. I use a mixture of textbook material and my own high quality notes to create effective, relevant and personalised lessons, whether you are a non-native speaker hoping to improve your English language skills or a student tackling the English Leaving Cert.
-I have been teaching online one-to-one classes for more than three years to Leaving Cert English students hoping to improve their grade/understanding of texts and exam questions (be it poetry techniques, Shakespeare or writing strong essays ).
-Recently earned a CELTA language teaching qualification with experience delivering classes at both pre-intermediate and intermediate levels to foreign language students. Do you wish to improve your general fluency, conversational skills and ability to communicate effectively? I can help.

I am a genuine and approachable teacher who is eager to help students grow in confidence and reach their goals. I really enjoy working one on one with students and I try to provide a relaxing non-stressful environment where they can get personalised support and guidance.

In one-to-one classes I can offer the support, feedback and encouragement that you need to start writing creatively, whether it's for a course, to improve your language skills and fluency, or as a hobby/passion. I am a graduate of English with Creative Writing at UCD, have published several short stories and have years of experience giving advice and constructive feedback to other writers (I was also the fiction editor of a successful magazine issue published by UCD). Whether we start with a piece of writing that you want to expand on and improve or just an idea or genre you would like to write in, I can assist you. As well as giving you feedback on your work and talking you through how to go about editing, we can also look at certain books or stories as examples of excellent writing, to help inspire your own work. I offer close guidance and attention and try to create a welcoming, non-judgemental environment in which to work and grow your ideas. Please get in touch with your request so I have an idea of what you are looking for before our first introductory class
