I bring 8 years of teaching experience to aspiring musicians of all ages. Hi there! I am Tal. I grew up in South Africa. As a child I was always curious about music and music-making. I started playing trumpet at the age of 13 years old and it has become a life obsession since then. I graduated school and went straight to university to study music. I specialised in jazz performance. After my studies, I relocated to Tel Aviv, Israel where I started my own musical group and released original music. In Israel, I had a studio where I offered trumpet lessons to a wide range of students. I also taught trumpet at a primary school and at a music conservatory where students ranged in the ages of 7-18. I would love to share my passion for trumpet with you and embark on this exciting journey!

This holistic education equipped me not only with technical prowess on the trumpet but also with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate layers that compose the world of music.

I extended my musical footprint to the Israeli music industry, seamlessly navigating between teaching and performing. From my studio at the Berlagebrug, I give Piano lessons to beginners and (semi) advanced students. The lessons take place on a Yamaha wing and when a piece is well under control, we can make a professional recording of it.

I graduated in 1992 as a musician from the Hilversum Conservatory (nowadays Conservatory of Amsterdam) in the direction of light music, or jazz and pop. So with me, you learn not only to read notes but also chord schemes and - if you want - improvisation. Or we search together for a song that you would like to play and make a nice adaptation of it. Together we first look at exactly what you want to learn and align the curriculum.

I can also help you learn how to compose and produce. I work with Pro Tools and Logic Pro X.

For classical Piano lessons, I would rather refer you to someone else.

My name is Teis. I am a Danish guitarist trained in Jazz music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and USC Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles). I have played since age 7, studied since age 13, and played professionally since age 18.

I work professionally as a band leader, composer, and side person.

After around 25 years of experience on the guitar, I can confidently say that I am equipped to share the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years.

In all honesty: I have never found myself to be particularly "talented". But I am a hard worker. I truly believe that talent is not something you are born with, but something you can develop and grow.

Together we will explore secrets and tips for a healthy guitar routine. We will improve your technique and ear training abilities with direct and fun exercises.

Whether you are just a beginner or an intermediate/advanced guitarist, we can explore the instrument and all its possibilities.

Practicing and playing with a teacher in a one-on-one situation is the most effective way to get better faster, and I advise it to all the guitar and music lovers out there.

In my guitar course, we start from where you are at and set a goal fitting to what you want to achieve. For example, our focus could be a.o.:

Two ways to go about it;

Single lesson: We go from where you are at the moment, and I help you move forward.

5 or 10 lesson bundle: I will make a detailed plan for you and we will conclude the lessons with a performance of some sort. I will help you elevate and broaden your skill set, in your preferred style, but also ear training and theory. We will build a sustainable practice routine together, and you will get access to a library of practice play-alongs and manuals, that you can use to build a solid platform as a musician!
