Levantine Ammiyah is a colloquial dialect of Arabic spoken in the Levant, which includes Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon. It is the language used in everyday life, making it crucial to living and working among native Arab speakers.

This course introduces students to the Arabic alphabet while learning daily used vocabulary and expressions in Levantine Ammiyah. The class will include engaging activities and homework. It will focus on the main four skills: speaking, writing, reading, and listening comprehension. If the student has previous knowledge of the Arabic alphabet or Fusha, the course will be customized to suit their needs.

Topics covered include the alphabet, short and long vowels, expressing and asking about personal information, navigating daily life, getting around town, shopping, talking about the weather, time, and other social customs.

By the end of the course, students should have the skills to hold basic conversations using Ammiyah structures.

Intermediate Levantine Arabic Class for Adults (Amiyah)

This course covers subjects related to the personal environments of the student, topics of interest to the student (politics, history, food, etc.), and major cultural topics like marriage, Jordanian hospitality, holidays, the role of men and women, and customs. The class will include engaging activities and homework. It will focus on all four main skills but will give more attention to conversation and listening. If the student has previous knowledge of Fusha or any other Arabic dialects, the course will be customized to suit their needs.

By the end of the course, students should have the skills to confidently participate in general dialogues related to daily life with native speakers and provide some description and details. They can use some slang vocabulary and proverbs during public dialogues in their proper context. They will also have a good background in the culture, the country, and the people.
