The lesson materials mainly use news articles talking about timely topics. Each lesson aims to discuss the topic by answering guide questions with the use of a number of words and phrases (phrasal verbs and idioms) that are introduced in the article. It aims to boost learner's vocabulary and spontaneity in discussing relevant topics. After the discussion, the learner may expect some corrections with grammar and pronunciation.

Your laptop may work best for this kind of session so that you can share screens with the teacher, or view 2 or more windows at the same time. Your tablet or phone may work just fine. You just need to contact the teacher beforehand so that the material will be emailed to you in advance to be printed ahead of time. In addition, please be reminded that in 60-minute sessions, only 50 minutes will be spent on the class. The remaining 10 minutes will be spent by the teacher writing feedback/suggestions/advice.

I have taught English to speakers of other languages for more than 15 years now. I used to live in cities far away from home to go to school and work but I am now back in my home city where I live. I used to teach in a government high school but decided to focus on online teaching to maintain work-and-life balance. It was a couple of years after receiving my license to teach as a professional teacher and starting my teaching career when I got a TEFL certificate. I hold a degree in Secondary Education, major in Biology.
