Scarcely had I started teaching when I was bewitched by it. With an MA in Film Directing and Screenwriting at the London College of Communication I am currently pursuing a second degree in English Literary Studies at the Utrecht University. I will be teaching with a British accent and prosody and my chief interest lies in academic and formal english. Nevertheless, i keep myself up to date with colloquial language as I travel now and then to London and New York for photography work. It will be a great pleasure to be your tutor and embark on a bipartisan learning journey. I find it just to model the teaching on the student's peculiar needs which means we will be discussing together the right path to follow. I usually proceed along the learning with the aid of Cambridge books, needless to say, according to your level. I am based in Utrecht and i do privilege on-line classes. As a German student, studying at a international school in Amsterdam (Hotelschool The Hague), with Cambridge Level C2, I will

- tutor academic subjects in German and/or English
- help develop general study skills
- provide help with the oral and written aspects of the language(s)
- thorough preparation for exams

I am a licensed guitar teacher and specialize in teaching beginners and advanced electric and acoustic guitar music in all styles, Pop Rock Jazz and Classical guitar music for all ages. Take a good mood and a lot of enthusiasm and take your guitar with you.

Based on the student's question, I discuss the grammatical or idiomatic problem and practice the applications with him / her. I read pieces of text with the student (e) and enter conversations in the relevant language. Depending on the problem, I also link back to earlier material because something has often gone wrong. I also look primarily at daily practical applicability of the substance.

Nowadays a good command of English is useful and often even necessary. We come in contact with the language almost everywhere, in school, on television, the internet, in conversations.

As a native German speaker I once had to learn the language as well and I know how challenging it can be. I already majored in English at school. After school, I went to a language school in the United States in order to prepare for the TOEFL language certificate. Thereafter I started a bachelor program which was held entirely in English. During my studies I learnt a lot about academic writing practices.
Often, the lessons in school focus on grammar and vocabulary failing to to convey a basic understanding of the language. Conversation and writing fall short as well.

I am offering lessons for children and teenagers. My goal is to support their learning experience in an engaging way. We will discuss what you need and how I can help you. Be it a basic introduction, grammar or conversational training. I also offer proofreading.

Lessons can also be taught via Skype.

I am a TEFL-certified English teacher who is excited to help you achieve all of the goals you have set for yourself on the journey of learning English. I combine elements of traditional methodologies with some less traditional methods and approaches that I have extracted from my own experience with learning, as I am someone who speaks several different languages and am therefore very familiar with this process and what it takes to get better at a new language.
