Hello dear future German-learner,
My name is Alexandra, I recently graduated my studies at the KU Leuven and I will start a PhD in a few months, in the meantime I am eager to help students in the german studies. I know that german can be a tricky and difficult language, however is also is fascinating and fun. I am happy to help you prepare for tests, practice pronunciation and just talk in my mother language.

I have a C2 level diploma for German. At 20, I am a hyper polyglot with a knowledge of 28 languages, 12 of which I speak with a level above B2.

I spent two times on television (JT of the one and broadcast of what I mingle on RTL-TVI.

I am an interpreter by training and have decided to provide private language lessons in addition to translation and interpretation. Whoever wants to improve her or his command of German quickly and specifically has come to the right place.

At the start of a new series of lessons, I first test the level of the student, so that I know where I am and what the way forward is.
I ask my student what his or her ultimate goal is and try to adjust my lessons accordingly. Does she or he want to have a better command of the grammar rules? Does she or he want to be able to speak more confidently in front of an audience? Does she or he want to communicate with international friends or colleagues?
In general, I organize my language lessons according to three pillars: Language proficiency, which mainly consists of vocabulary and expressions and can be considered as the building blocks; Grammar, which includes the rules of the language and is the mortar or binder of the language; and Culture, which includes knowledge about the countries in which a language is spoken and can be seen as the architectural style.

German is my native language. I work as a German teacher at secondary schools, in adult education and on a freelance basis (for companies).
You can come to me for private or group lessons. In addition, I offer a course on German culture and history and on specific German behavioral patterns.

I have a background in political science, I studied in France and Germany. After my studies, I worked in the European institutions. My working languages have mainly been English, French and German. I master these three languages at a professional level.

For Dutch, I learned it when I arrived in Belgium and used it in private settings. This is why I prefer to give Dutch lessons to beginners or as tutoring to carry out the exercises with the student.

Teaching experience:
To finance my studies, I gave private lessons to secondary school students in different subjects, including languages. I have a great taste for sharing knowledge and interaction.
I adapt to the needs of the student, both in the topics covered and in the exercises and the method. We can thus work on written / oral comprehension, written / oral expression. I vary the methods according to what the student likes for better learning, going from playful to more academic methods.

I can follow your child or your development on an ad hoc basis or over several months.

Ik ben Lucas en ben 22 jaar oud. Mijn moedertalen zijn Nederlands en Duits. Dit is de ideale basis om Duits en Nederlands te kunnen doceren. Als moedertaalspreker ken ik de valkuilen in beide talen als geen ander. Ik heb in 2021 mijn bachelordiploma in de taal- en letterkunde (talen: Nederlands, Duits en Engels) behaald aan de universiteit van Luik. Dit betekent dus dat ik daarnaast ook Engels en Frans spreek. Momenteel volg ik een verkorte educatieve bacheloropleiding aan de UCLL én ben ik ook werkzaam als leerkracht in het secundair onderwijs.

In eerste instantie gaan we samen aan de slag om je niveau nader te bepalen. Belangrijk hierbij is ook dat je zelf aangeeft wat je graag zou bereiken. Eens er een globaal beeld geschetst is, gaan we gezamenlijk stap per stap bekijken hoe deze doelen het best kunnen worden behaald. Tijdens de les wordt er uiteraard ook rekening gehouden met jouw interesses zodat de lessen boeiend blijven.
