Extra informatie

Je préconise 1h de cours hebdomadaire durant laquelle j’enseigne à la fois le solfège et l’instrument, qui sera utilisé dès le premier cours. Une semaine sur deux nous commençons alternativement par l’instrument ou par le solfège.

La partie Solfège se compose :
- d’une partie Théorie, le plus souvent, en rapport direct avec un des morceaux étudiés, de façon à le rendre plus concret pour l’enfant.
- d’une partie Pratique directement liée aux besoins instrumentaux : Lecture de notes, Lecture de rythmes...

La partie instrumentale est constituée principalement de l’étude de morceaux, grâce auxquels nous abordons les principales difficultés techniques de l’instrument.

En général, après quelques cours, j’invite à travailler un minimum de deux morceaux : - un morceau imposé, ou tout du moins proposé avec insistance ( pour une bonne progression technique).
- un morceau choisi par l’élève que j’adapte et transcris selon le niveau et le goût de celui-ci.

L’outil informatique pourra éventuellement être utilisé pendant certains cours pour le solfège ou en accompagnement orchestral d’un morceau étudié. En effet une séquence peut parfois se substituer avantageusement à l’utilisation d’un métronome.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Hi there,

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 12 and was immediately hooked. Within a year I started playing in youth bands and projects, and during high school I moved to a music school where I began performing with bands and teaching guitar to kids as my first job. I later completed two bachelor’s degrees, the second in jazz guitar, at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Since then I’ve been working full time as a session guitarist, songwriter, and musical director with artists like Karsu, Alain Clark, Ruth Jacott, Jennie Lena, and many others, as well as releasing my own music as an independent artist under my stage name Jessy Hay. I’m extremely passionate about music theory, ear training, and music history, and I try to combine all of these with practical approaches to create a complete package for guitar enthusiasts.

Over the years I’ve developed many methods and seen hundreds of students grow from being stuck on the instrument to becoming full-on improvisers and composers across many genres. I love to combine the theory and improvisation I’ve learned from jazz, together with the groove and rhythm from funk and soul, the attitude from rock, and the production and songwriting skills from pop music. I’m also very interested in Middle Eastern music, for students who want to explore other scales, Maqams, and musical languages. Lessons usually start by discussing the student’s goals and current level, followed by exercises and pieces tailored to their needs. I also provide guidance on instrument setup, tone, and technique, to ensure a solid foundation. My aim is to give students a full 360° view of music: understanding the language, knowing what you’re doing, and developing your own ways of improving by becoming more familiar with both the instrument and the musical language itself.

Oui, toi, gentil humain.
Vous rêvez peut-être de jouer du piano depuis un certain temps. Vous en avez peut-être joué un peu enfant, mais vous avez arrêté en cours de route. Ou peut-être aimez-vous simplement le son du piano et ses touches noires et blanches, et pensez-vous souvent : « J’aimerais tellement savoir en jouer ».
Mais alors ces pensées surgissent :
« Je n'ai pas assez de temps. »
« L'école de musique est trop loin. »
« Et si c'est trop difficile pour moi ? »
« Mon emploi du temps ne me permet pas de fixer des horaires de cours fixes. »

En tant que musicienne et professeure de piano, je comprends parfaitement ces difficultés. J'ai moi-même eu du mal avec la structure rigide des écoles de musique traditionnelles et, pendant longtemps, je ne savais pas comment m'entraîner efficacement. Comment progresser sans se sentir submergé ? Comment concilier l'apprentissage de la musique avec un quotidien chargé ?

C'est pourquoi j'intègre des éléments de méditation, des exercices de respiration et des techniques de relaxation à mon enseignement.
Ces outils peuvent faire toute la différence, notamment lors de la préparation d'une représentation ou d'un moment stressant.
Par exemple, avant un concert, le trac se manifeste souvent par une respiration superficielle, des tensions ou des pensées qui s'emballent. J'enseigne des exercices de respiration simples qui vous aident à calmer votre système nerveux, à vous recentrer et à vous laisser emporter par la musique plutôt que par la peur.
En intégrant la relaxation et la pleine conscience à votre pratique du piano, vous n'améliorez pas seulement votre technique, vous développez également votre confiance en vous, votre concentration et une relation plus saine avec la musique et avec vous-même.

Kom maar af met je materiaal songs/beats mijn focus is om je zo goed mogelijk te ondersteunen in waar je mee bezig bent. Wil je graag wat meer bijleren over mixen, sound designing klank synthese, compositie. Leer je graag wat meer bij over het songwritting proces. Hoe start ik met een song of wat zijn voorkomende valkuilen, I'm your guy:). Als producer heb ik al wel heel wat genres gemaakt dus ben daarin ook heel flexibel;)
