I am a new Mandarin teacher in education industry. In order to become a professional teacher, I took the standard training course in consistent with requirement of Confucius Institute. So far I have been working as a part-time teacher and plan to devote myself into this career in near future. I am cultivated with fundamental education theory as well as professional teaching skills to give Mandarin class as the 2nd language to foreign students. I hold the National Mandarin (Putonghua) Proficiency Certificate and it is my strength to help students correct their pronunciation of Chinese.

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.

I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid understanding of grammar, as Turkish has a very different structure.

I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation.

I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels.

The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons.

I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature.

I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

The most important thing when learning a language is to build up your own language corpus and to actually use the language in conversation and in everyday life.
Since I taught myself German, I know the subtle differences between Chinese and German very well – from pronunciation to grammar to the cultural nuances behind them.

In my lessons, I don't use traditional textbooks. I'm much more interested in how you want to learn this language.
In the first lesson, we'll get to know each other through conversation: What do you like to talk about? What would you like to improve? After that, I'll create personalized lessons for you. Each lesson begins with an open conversation in Chinese. Depending on your needs, I'll integrate relevant audio and video materials into the lessons. After each lesson, you'll receive a list of new vocabulary and key points to keep you informed, so you can continuously expand your vocabulary. This is even more helpful if you use Anki :)
