Juan is a professional pianist, composer, and Berklee graduate.

Lessons are 50 minutes long and take place once a week.

Lessons are available in both English and Spanish.

About the platform:
Lessons are held on Google Meet, so students do not need to download any additional software. The professor’s piano is shown via one camera, while another camera provides a front view. Students will need their own camera and microphone to participate and should be able to show their keyboard.

About the teaching style:
Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the student, always combining practical playing and harmony. The goal is not only to play pieces or improvise, but also to understand the harmonic structure of the music and develop the ability to transform and apply it creatively.

My name is Juan. I am a composer, jazz pianist, songwriter, and professor from Madrid, Spain.

I first studied jazz piano and harmony in Madrid and later in Boston, USA, where I graduated from Berklee College of Music.

Since then, I have combined creating and performing my own music—which you can find on all major streaming platforms—with my work as a jazz piano professor. This second aspect of my professional life led me to develop my own music learning website, "Comamusical," which features a wide range of articles and resources for my students, as well as a YouTube channel with the same name.

I am currently offering online lessons. You can find all the relevant information on this site. Please feel free to ask any questions about the classes, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I have masters in early music and classical double bass from Royal Conservatory of The Hague and active as jazz musician.

As for the piano, we will focus on:

Musical Notes: Learn to read and write notes easily while improving your musical skills. Musical Scales: Study major and minor scales and their effect on playing pieces. Chords: Learn to build different chords and how to use them in playing.
