I am Maarja (artist name: Marie von Voxel) — a costume designer and 3D artist with over a decade of experience in theatre costume and a recent focus on digital couture. I am a visiting lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts and exhibit my work across Europe. I combine a strong practical production background with contemporary digital workflows to help students turn ideas into finished garments and visual stories.

Hello,

Let me introduce myself, Marylène, professional storyboarder, graduated in animation cinema.

I offer serious drawing lessons adapted to the level of the student, from the beginner to the young professional through the animation student.

During the first lesson, we will talk about the student's expectations and set the artistic objectives by defining a personalized program. I would assess the level of the student, his strengths and weaknesses for a tailor-made course, taking into account to nourish his universe and his sensitivities with a background both cultural and technical.

I teach both the basics of solid drawing to beginners (perspective, proportion, composition, volume, anatomy, gesture, posing, principles of animation ...) as well as to students / future students in animation cinema, to young professionals who want to specialize in storyboard or who have questions about how to develop a TV pitch.

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with fifteen years of experience. I studied art and architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Columbia University in New York. I teach painting, drawing, digital image and creativity. I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels.

I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey.
