Présentation

I am an adventurer and a bookworm so my interest in foreign languages came naturally. I lead an active life as a sailor and climber but I also enjoy spending time at home with books, films and music. My interest in psychology is satisfied in my job as all students are different and demand individual care. All in all, teaching is a perfect combination of working, learning and having fun because it opens up so many opportunities both for teacher and student.

Education

I am currently a PhD student and I specialize in linguistics. I hold B.A. in Business English and M.A. in British and American Culture and Literature as well as a certificate of completion of an intensive translation course.

I worked at University of Silesia for 4 years teaching students, attending conferences and organizing events. I also held a position of an English Language Coach and Translator for 8 years in several companies.

Literature in English language is a very broad term. The biggest number of popular English language texts comes from the USA and the UK, however, there are many other places where English is spoken as a native language and interesting texts are produced.
You can learn with me the following subjects:
1. American literature (including native American literature).
2. British literature (including Welsh and Scottish literature).
3. Selected areas of literature in English from Canada, Australia, India and South Africa.

The goal is that you learn to speak the language you selected. You will be able to have conversations in French, Spanish or English. To do so: you will learn grammar and vocabulary.

I have been a tutor on Apprentus for more than 5 years and have had many students of different ages and nationalities around the world online and in person in The Netherlands.

I am a native Spanish speaker, and I have a proficiency level of English and a high level of French. I have significant experience in teaching these three languages to adults or younger students.
I aim to keep students challenged and motivated while not overwhelming them. I try to achieve this through personalized classes in which students can decide the focus of their learning depending on the areas in which they wish to improve.

I offer online or face-to-face English lessons to non-native speakers. I work with the student to identify learning objectives and any areas of weakness and tailor the lesson accordingly. Areas covered during the lesson include, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar accent reduction.
I currently live in Den Haag, The Netherlands. In addition to private coaching, I also work for an online ESL company delivering English lessons to children across a range of age groups. In addition, I also work as an ESL proofreader and IELTS private tutor here in The Hague. I hold a BA (Hons) degree and have a CELTA qualification. Prior to a career in ESL English teaching, I worked in the UK national press for the Times and Financial Times newspapers. It was there I developed my proofreading and communications skills.
In my spare time, I write articles for magazines and have had feature stories published in The Telegraph magazine, The Daily Mail and a number of health magazines. I have also written two language books. The first, 'I Already Speak Speak French!' is an illustrated book for children that covers the etymology of many English words to their French origin (attached is a sample of it for your interest!). It has been translated for the French market into, 'I Already Speak English!' The second book is called, 'Learn Business English FAST!' which draws on a teaching methodology used for effective, fast learning that I used whilst teaching English for the international company, GoFluent.
