I'm a 33 years old french teacher and I've been living here in Brussels for 11 years, 8 of them as a french teacher. Before that I studied political sciences and had a couple of experiences in public communication.
As a teacher, I gave classes in languages centers (such as Berlitz or Semantics), so I worked and continue working in different environments like lawyer cabinets, hospitals, companies or NGO based in Brussels or with people learing french through unemployment programs). But I also give private lessons, like the one we might do together. This brought me to work with different linguistic, cultural and professionnal backgrounds as well as with very different age classes (from 5 to 65).
My class is essentially based on improving communication skills, that is to say that I give an advantage to the practice of verbal expression, through simulations (of professional situations, like doing a public presentation or conducting a meeting,...) and conversation (around documents and medias like articles, audiovisual items,...).
Nevertheless, when learning or doing the revision of grammar points is needed, I organize grammar items to work on too (the use of the subjonctif, la concordance des temps, how to express hypothesis,...). For that, I use primarly the book Grammaire Progressive du Français but can also use different material (I worked with some product of the editions Alter Ego more centered on workplace oriented needs for example).
So my methode is "taylor-made" as I adapt the content around the needs of each students in term of their communication objectives.

FLE teacher graduated from the Alliance française Bruxelles-Europe. I taught in Laos (1 year in a local school) in Peru (1 year in a college and in a French alliance), in Moscow (2 years in a private language school), in Brussels (6 month in an association that delivers courses to newcomers and the F9 for private and group lessons at the ULB).
The type of teaching that I favor is based on active pedagogy, constant interaction of the learner with his teacher and his environment, a cultural exchange and a clear and precise understanding of the objectives to be achieved.

I can offer conversation classes at very different levels, from informal discussions with idiomatic expressions to business negotiation dialogues.

As for the pronunciation of French, it is a real challenge because written French is often very different from its articulation.

The verbo-tonal method that I use, and which is often used by speech therapists, is particularly suitable for correcting French pronunciation for those of you who are not native French speakers, but also for native French speakers who wish to get rid of an accent.

We will work on the sounds of the language integrated into the sentence, the rhythm, the intonation and considered as a living and evolving system.

This method is very effective. You will see your progress very quickly and your self-confidence will allow you to overcome any reluctance you may have had before to express yourself in public. For others, having a more neutral pronunciation in French can be a significant asset professionally.

I gave French as a foreign language lessons for about three years, to children and adults. After a two-year break, here I am back to start teaching French as a foreign language again.

I speak several languages, and this taught me to understand how to learn a language. I know what non-French speakers go through, what process they have to go through in order to learn French.

I adapt each time my way of teaching at the request of the student. I prefer to create the course with the student (if he or she also prefers it, of course) so that I can best meet the needs of the person I am teaching.
