My goal is not only to teach the student to play guitar (or to help him further), but also to get acquainted with various folk music forms from Latin America both in practice on the guitar but also through listening and researching the various forms. My name is Teis. I am a Danish guitarist trained in Jazz music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and USC Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles). I have played since age 7, studied since age 13, and played professionally since age 18.

I work professionally as a band leader, composer, and side person.

After around 25 years of experience on the guitar, I can confidently say that I am equipped to share the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years.

In all honesty: I have never found myself to be particularly "talented". But I am a hard worker. I truly believe that talent is not something you are born with, but something you can develop and grow.

Together we will explore secrets and tips for a healthy guitar routine. We will improve your technique and ear training abilities with direct and fun exercises.

Whether you are just a beginner or an intermediate/advanced guitarist, we can explore the instrument and all its possibilities.

Practicing and playing with a teacher in a one-on-one situation is the most effective way to get better faster, and I advise it to all the guitar and music lovers out there.

In my guitar course, we start from where you are at and set a goal fitting to what you want to achieve. For example, our focus could be a.o.:

Fingerpicking
Soloing
Accompanying yourself
Songwriting

Two ways to go about it;

Single lesson: We go from where you are at the moment, and I help you move forward.

5 or 10 lesson bundle: I will make a detailed plan for you and we will conclude the lessons with a performance of some sort. I will help you elevate and broaden your skill set, in your preferred style, but also ear training and theory. We will build a sustainable practice routine together, and you will get access to a library of practice play-alongs and manuals, that you can use to build a solid platform as a musician!

Together we look at how you can best develop.
My basis is classical, and I would like to give you that, you can go in many directions afterwards. Have you found something to play yourself? Then I'll help you play that right! You can learn to read notes with me, but that is not mandatory. I can also help you sing, and also give general music lessons, for example as a tutor. Don't you understand that scale or chords?
Are you looking for information from a specific time? I'll help you with that.
I also do songs with children.

Guitar is one of the most beautiful instruments available for many people! An essential instrument in a band and an instrument with which you can do everything: sensitive songs, a sultry tango or rock hard! In my lesson I learn the basic chords, I explain how a guitar works and I help with learning songs, so that before you know it you can grab your guitar and play a song!

Experience has shown that many students can play quite a few songs themselves within a few months. Age and/or experience doesn't matter, my youngest student is 7 years old and the oldest almost 70.

The Bass guitar lessons are given at all levels from beginners to advanced / professionals. You learn how to play the instrument, with the right attitude and the right technical and theoretical underpinning of everything you want to learn. A somewhat broader music theoretical knowledge can also be taught. Customization is provided to the student's wishes.

The music theory lessons provide insight into how western music theory functions and how it is applied in practice. Exercises are also done to develop the hearing and music theoretical exercises are done on the basis of either piano, guitar or bass guitar. The aim is to understand what the theory behind music is and why it functions that way.

The Guitar (or Piano) lessons are only given at beginners level. The basic skills of the instrument are taught and an insight is also given into simple music theoretical issues with which the student can benefit from these acquired insights until a much more advanced stage and make faster progress on his/her instrument.
