Las clases se llevarán a cabo de acuerdo al conocimiento pedagógico aportado por el constructivismo y la neuroeducación, con el fin de que el alumno/a asimile mejor los conocimientos, y dejando de lado las clases puramente memorísticas, para fomentar el aprendizaje por comprensión.

Con ello se persigue, no sólo que el alumno/a aprenda y comprenda, sino que además disfrute haciéndolo. Del mismo modo, durante las sesiones se fomentará la competencia "Aprender a Aprender", además del pensamiento crítico.

Una vez finalizadas las sesiones, el alumno/a no sabrá únicamente los contenidos, también podrá desarrollar su propia opinión y poseerá las herramientas necesarias para aprender por sí mismo/a.

En el caso de aquellos/as alumnos/as más pequeños/as, se adaptarán los contenidos de acuerdo a su nivel de desarrollo cognitivo. Del mismo modo se realizará con aquellas personas que presenten dificultades de aprendizaje. Por ejemplo: TDAH, dislexia, TEA, etc.

History and politics have always been a passion of mine and I am very much willing to teach anyone who desires any tutoring. At times it can be very difficult and overwhelming if you need to make an exam or write an essay - I can be there to help in case you need guidance! The goal here would be to make you understand history better, organize patterns in your head and possibly make you love the subject! This should definitely help in either expanding your worldview, or enhancing your history grades. I am willing to teach history (or politics/maatschappijleer) in Dutch or English.

I have little preference in regard to eras or themes in history, but if you must know I especially enjoy political and military macro-history. The grand patterns throughout history fascinate me, with of course, attention to large events. No era or area is particularly strange to me, again, being able to process history is the goal here!

The grand goal is to get a basic, intermediate or advanced understanding in one of the subjects. I could, possibly, rehearse with you and ask you how fluent you are in the topics at hand. I am fully willing to adapt to the student his or her academic needs. In case you wish me to help you in structuring or writing a history essay, then this, too is no problem!

The subjects of World History and Social Studies are often left aside as they are seen as less useful that the other subjects, but I believe children can learn a lot from observing and learning about what happened in the past and what happens today. I want to share my knowledge about these subjects with them while also helping them managing the knowledge they already have and need to learn. In schools, history is often taught through learning dates and events but history should be taught in the form of a story, which is easier to remember, and the useful information will stick longer.
I am willing to help my students with the homework they have as well and teach them some skills in how to organize and manage the work they receive.

I have teaching experience in international schools in Qatar, Italy and the US with students in middle school and high school, having taught the American curriculum and the International Baccalaureates curriculum.
