You want to be able to express yourself with your instrument, as an extension of your body. You want to share the happiness of playing music together. With friends around the campfire or on stage with your band. You want to write songs or lose yourself in free improvisation. I learned all of that from doing because that is how I learn. Endless jamming, joining bands, doing my own research, failing and trying again. Slowly figuring out what it means to be a musician. And thank god the learning never ends. Now it’s time to share my experience so far with you. You who’s on the road with me, to help you on your way. As a mentor. As a friend. The way I teach is different from every one of my students because they all have their own strengths, desires, and current obstacles. I try to observe, give key feedback points, provide relevant exercises and simply share the sheer joy of playing music. Because isn’t it just the most fulfilling thing? I teach electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass, and ukulele, as well as music theory, songwriting, and musical improvisation.
