How to learn German faster?

Are you preparing to study or finish your studies in Germany, you are looking to enlarge your professional prospects, or you would like to enhance your linguistic skills. In short, you would like to learn German but you only have a few weeks? Here are some tips to help you speed up your learning process.

How to learn German faster

1-  Listen

 Listen

Before even starting to learn the language, it is important to listen to it in order to get used to the sounds and tones.

The easiest and the most efficient way to listen to a language is through media; Films, series, Tv shows or even songs.

However, you should avoid at the beginning to watch the news in German or serious shows as they might give you the impression that it’s a very difficult language to learn and you might get bored too quickly.

2-   Read

Once you get used to the sounds you could pass to the reading.

You can make use of anything that comes to your hands; a page of an old magazine, an internet article or an even a children’s book.

Try to read with a loud voice while trying your best to be faithful to the right accent with its sounds and tones.

It would be perfect if you could read by combining the sound and the image, like watching a movie in German with German subtitles as well. In fact, audiobooks would be a major and a beneficial tool in your learning process

3-  Write:

Write

The next obvious step would be to write! Now that you got used on the sounds and the words are no longer a mystery to you, you can pass to writing. You can start by rewriting existing texts. Read the same phrases once or more and then try to rewrite them without looking at the text. Meeting people who are learning German with the same level as yours would help a lot as you could communicate through messages on social media for example, as writing is an indispensable tool to help you progress.

4-    Speak:

Speak

The final, difficult and most crucial step is speaking. You will have to find partners to have a conversation with, but where? If you are living in a big city then that would not be difficult. You could also find people who are interested to learn German or they just pleased to help you via the internet…

Creating and joining groups and events with themes from the German culture, where you only speak German is a very enriching and amusing experience at the same time.To combine all these tips with a Private German teacher would deeply accelerate your learning process and help you master the language in no time.
