Those students and parents who found me at Apprentus left me beautiful recommendations that I really recommend reading below. Lessons can take place at my "Brussels Flute Studio" at Parc des Princes, Auderghem area. Metro 5 - Herrmann-Debroux, tram 8 - Tenreuken, bus 41-Transvaal. Classes are in English, French or Polish. Beginner, Intermediate, advance level; Young (+6) and older - all welcome. My students play in duos, trios, quartets and in the flute orchestra; at least few times a year students play concert, go to competitions, attend workshops, Flute Festivals & masterclasses (for school year 2023/2024 minimum 6 events are planned); I am experienced in preparing for ABRSM exams; my students pass ABRSM exams with merits and distinctions! All the students need their own instrument. I help to find and buy an instrument, repair it or resell it. I am really sorry, but I stopped lending flutes because of my bad experience. Teaching from my experience as a performing musician and my stage experience is one of the important principles in my teaching practice. Sharing what I have experienced myself. By teaching on different sides of the world and with different age categories, I have built up a lot of experience. At a certain point, teaching for me became much more than just keeping the student busy playing pieces of music. By studying different aspects such as sound, breathing, posture and other aspects of flute playing, I began to see very clearly how all elements of playing are influenced by our personality, emotions and feelings. And in this way, playing the flute becomes much deeper and more beautiful than "just" making music, then you get to know yourself on a different level and on a different level of making music. During my career I have played and continue to play several flutes: modern flute, piccolo, traverso (baroque flute) and bansuri (Indian flute). That gives me a lot of vision and insight into flute playing in general. In addition to my music activities, I am also a certified yoga teacher. From my yoga training, I have a clear idea of anatomy and the structure of the human body, which in my view is very important to help students find their own beautiful and natural sound. It is important to me to view each person as personally as possible and to help them as individually as possible to find their own way to music and the flute. I not only give flute lessons for the modern flute, but also lessons for the traverso.

Matteo - Brussels$51
Trusted teacher: Are you interested in learning or developing your flute skills? Are you a beginner or already advanced? Opening up to different repertoires and techniques? You need to integrate your flute class with strong discipline regarding rhythms and solfege? Then... what are you waiting for? I offer lessons of flute and recorder in three languages (French, English & Italian). If you are a big fun of art noveau buildings you can come to my house in Schaerbeek. Or if you leave too far, I can come to your place. My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well. I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music. From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels. I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019). I regularly play with leading ensembles and orchestras such as Millennium Orchestra (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), Vox Luminis (Lionel Meunier), Les Muffatti (Peter van Heyghen), Coro & Orchestra Ghislieri (Giulio Prandi), Le Concert d'Anvers (Bart van Reyn), B.O.X. (Pieter Theuns), Silete Venti (Simone Toni), Transports publics (Thomas Baeté), Oficina Musicum (Riccardo Favero), and performs on the main stages and festivals such as: Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, De Singel in Antwerp, Bozar in Brussels, Festival de Sablé, Festival des Abbeyes en Lorraine Ravenna Festival, Grandezze e Meraviglie in Modena, Venetian Centre for Baroque Music in Venice, Spazio & Musica at Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Festival Accademia Bizantina, Coudenberg in Brussels, Teatro dell'Arte di Milan, Teatro Della Pergola in Florence, Ars in Cathedrali in Brussels, Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris, and many others.

Ewa - Utrecht$38
Trusted teacher: Do you or your child want to play the flute? Or to learn how enjoyable can it be? You are most welcome! Learning to play the instrument is an opportunity to enter the world of music and become a musician. More importantly, you learn the joy of creating music by yourself. I invite beginners as well as children or adults who have already had some experiences with playing and want to develope their skills. I invite beginners, children and adults, as well as experienced players, to develop their skills. I also offer lessons for duos or trios – two or three different recorders, flute and piano or guitar, or two flutes. In this case, we focus on the skills needed for ensemble playing and less on individual technique, so this option is not for absolute beginners. The cost per person for ensemble lessons will be lower. How does a lesson with me look like? It depends on your level and what we focus on, but we will certainly do some preparatory exercises. You will present what you have been preparing since last time, and we will work on some details. If there is time, we shall then try something new. We can also play duos together. A lesson last about an hour, or 45 minutes for younger pupils. I can adjust the repertoire to your preferences, to your needs and to your level, but I shall also encourage you to learn some new and unfamiliar styles. I like to use notated music in the process of learning, so that in the future you will feel comfortable about reading music, but we can also sometimes improvise, or play something you remember without notation. Along the way, you will learn some music theory, which is necessary part of becoming a musician. I also offer music theory lessons alone, if you wish.

Flute lessons ONLINE with Malvina [Brussels Flute Studio]
Malvina
A really good flute teacher who sets interesting challenges to motivate practising the flute every day and independently. She also has plenty of up-to-date ideas combining different material sources (including digitals! top notch teacher with IT!) according to my needs and interests. She teaches me a lot of very useful tips for my level and I can hear a clear difference from a lesson to another. Yet, no miracle either: you must practice! But with the right instructions, she can help you pass obstacles you may have thought they were impossible to overcome. And playing the flute becomes a mere pleasure and joyful challenge! Besides, she never allows you to rest in your comfortable zone! There are always plenty of interesting and useful things to learn with great pleasure rather than with pain and stress! Thank you so much Malvina! Looking forward to our future lessons!

Flute ONLINE for everyone. Children to Adults. (English, Russian) (Ghent)
Anna
I might not know much about flute, but what I know is that if you want to learn it, Anna's your gal. She's fun, smart, punctual and really professional and, to top it off, a really good teacher. She is going to make you feel appraised for your smallest accomplishments (which will definitely help you evolve much faster than using any conventional book/online course etc.) and will find the sweet spot between theoretical concepts and fun, practical songs to keep you entertained. I myself had an internal kerfuffle and nearly quit after 2 weeks of trying to learn flute. But flute can be fun and entertaining, and Anna's teaching method is the proof to that lemma!

Uma Torres
I contacted Uma after a big musical break. She has the patience and the smile that will give you confidence to (re)start playing the flute, whatever your level is. Ask her anything and she will always try to answer, propose a new piece and adapt to your needs. If you are interested, she can introduce you to baroque music, the main topic of her studies.
